What an exciting time for the national team. Legit performers popping up all over the place. Can see the next ten years being the best ever quality wise, even if that doesn't result in major honours; it doesn't necessarily have to. Just to enter a WC or EC thinking you have every right to win it would be a first.
If England could produce just one top quality CM they might actually win something. They have quality and youth in pretty much every area, but CM is very meh. I mean Bobby Sands is tidy and talented n all, but he’s hardly Modric or Xavi.

I don't think it matters as much at international level tbh. As long as there is respect, harmony and camaraderie, the quality--if you have enough of it--will do the rest, imo.
He's gotta stop picking Dier and Henderson in midfield though - neither of those cats can pass the ball forwards. England had a really dynamic and diverse forward line last night and the biggest issue they had is in midfield as Henderson and Alli were both infuriatingly behind play at times. Barkley hasn't had a great season performance-wise but he was England's best midfielder because he's actually capable of dribbling and passing forward!
Need more creativity in the middle of the park IMO, it's all shunted into the forward areas but a good team will shut that off if the ball can't get to them quick enough.
