Not sure why I put United, I meant City!

As for the 3 players we need, I think we should be getting a DM, a winger and a striker (if Walcott isn't up front). I think Čech's a bonus.

That said, if we get Čech and the DM, we can compete with what we have now. But to really trouble the top teams around us – and compete in Europe – we'd still have to do a bit more. Over the next two seasons we should be transitioning the older players out and bringing in top, top quality talent to strengthen the defence and balance the midfield; and it goes without saying, if this season doesn't go well for our forwards, we absolutely have to go and get someone world-class and be ruthless with the strikers we do have. No time to waste given the potential in this team; every year we do nothing we waste all that we've invested into our younger players.
Some great points in here dude!
I just hope at the very least we'll get Cech and a new midfielder in. I feel even without a new attacker we can do well, moving Walcott into the centre could work out very well. We would be relying a lot on the likes of Walcott, Welbeck and Ox stepping up though. With a new midfielder we'd have a lot of good players in that area who should be playing, so we'll probably see Ramsey or Wilshere on the right a few times...

Arsenal Quotes

In June 1996, David Dein, Peter Hill-Wood and Danny Fiszman came out to Nagoya to meet me on behalf of Arsenal. Within an hour we came to an agreement. The Japanese directors didn't try to keep hold of me in the usual way but talked with persuasive arguments... But as far as I was concerned, the decision was taken. Arsenal. A decision that would change my life.
