Just got back from the game.

Feel sorry for the players and Arsène after that - we genuinely performed well and yet all the talk will be about 'the score' even though the match was dead and buried by that point.

The refereeing doesn't need to have cost us to have been diabolical. Hope the useless ****** never refs a game again. Utter ****.

In other news I sit in the same block as DT/bludfam so I'll be the really handsome guy behind the banner in all the backpages tomorrow.
And you might also have made it onto DT's YouTube vlog, you'll be famous mate!

First of all you know as well as I do that there's not a chance in hell of De Gea or Kante winning so take them out right away. When you factor in the goals, assists and chances he's created he absolutely has been the best player to this point. He's been doing his job and Özil's all season. Now it is true that he's got better players around him than Judas did. But are those players actually playing any better than Judas' teammates were? They don't retain the ball as well and the same pathetic defending that really has been the hallmark of post Vieira Arsenal still exists today with better defenders. Is Sanchez supposed to play CB too or could it be that Wenger is the common denominator here and it doesn't matter what kind of attacking talent you have if the manager can't organize a midfield or a defense? How much more is Sanchez supposed to do before someone else chips in?

If Kante doesn't make the shortlist that's f*cking criminal. Chelsea have run away with the league with him as pretty much the only major difference in their squad from last year that finished 8th unless you're giving David Luiz credit as well.

That 2011/12 squad is probably the worst in Wenger's tenure. Had a constant revolving door at CB of Djourou, Per, TV and a pre prime Kos.

Wilshere didn't play at all for us, Rosicky and Arteta rather than Özil and Santi were our main creative outlets. Song was Song, Ramsey was still working his way back from the leg break and we needed major contributions from Andre Santos, Benayoun, Gervinho, Chamakh, a past it Arshavin and a teenage Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Our second best player was probably Theo who is pretty much the same as he was then.

That side was utter garbage, f*cking dreadful stuff yet it finished above a side with van der Vaart, Bale and Modric, a side with Luis Suarez and Steven Gerrard and that year's CL winners. All that is down mostly to RVP, he either scored or assisted for 43 goals out of a total of 74 league goals. That's 58% of our league goals he was responsible for. That's ****ing mad.

Christ knows how we'd have done if he had even just Özil alongside him. Alexis is a quality player but making out him leaving us is gonna hurt as much as RVP is just wrong.

Doesn't the guy livestream his face during matches?
Exactly and I was watching it expecting a comedy show. He was completely normal, just like a regular fan.

I'm guessing this guy has done something bad in the past? Because every time I've watched a video of him I'm either laughing at his distress or agreeing with him.

It can't be easy for the players when they only seem to be given instructions/guidance before kick-off, half-time and subs. Any other times, the players are pretty much on their own. I can understand why the team would go to shít, if when things suddenly don't go to plan, no one is telling them what to do next.

Anyone bigging up that first half performance is so naive. OF COURSE we were gonna have a good start today! When you get thrashed 5-1 in the first leg, professional teams tend to stand off in the 2nd leg and wait to pick their moment! This sort of consolation-seeking is what has allowed Arsenal to paper over the cracks for the last few years and placate the fan base! I was expecting fans to make silly excuses for us if we went down in a "heroic" 2-1 win or something, but we lost 5-1 and some people are still seeing a silver lining! It's either some people just don't want their mental boat to be rocked, or we have some kids on here who are not familiar with Champions League dynamics!

Weren't some of them taking photos with Wenger at one point? Wenger has done more good for this club than anyone, most of us want him gone, but to call him a senile old fool and other disgusting things on live tv is too much.

You understand though that there are more factors that determine the impact of losing a player than just their quality. Our profile as a club is getting worse every single year. Manchester United has got a bottomless pit of money and more recent and total success than we have and yet they've still had players turn them down. It's the height of arrogance to just assume that we can bring in players of Alexis' quality as we continue to slide, as we continue to not pay wages comparable to what our rivals will be at the absolute top end and as it becomes clear that we aren't going to match the ambition of the best players.

You forget that Özil and Sanchez were both purchased at relative bargains because they were surplus to requirements at super clubs. We can't rely on top class players being available every summer at a cut rate. We can't rely on players believing the used car pitch Wenger has managed to lure Sanchez and Özil with when every humiliating defeat makes it clear what a lie he's telling. You're not seeing the full picture and that's the problem. Look at Liverpool and how hard a time they have getting top class talent to look at them. Alexis could have gone there in a swap for Suarez, that was the preference of Liverpool and Barca, he had no desire to because of how much their profile has slipped. We are not far off that at all and you and others just don't seem to get that. You can't just take it for granted that we'll be ok if we go back to losing our best players. That kind of mindset is a recipe for disaster. If Sanchez leaves and Özil leaves what top player do you realistically see signing up to play for us, wanting to try to lead this pathetic group when they can make more money and have a better chance of trophies elsewhere? Give me names.
