League is very weak
Going to be impossible to replace Vardy though, phenomenal footballer for a club like Leicester. 1 in 2 against the big 6 ffs.

Have liked the look of that Leicester midfield for awhile now, thought they had the ingredients there but they weren’t being used properly...manager set up is very important as you say.

The 3-1 win last season came when both Lucas and Xhaka were in very good form for us in midfield, so that proves it’s the most important!;)

Playerw matter but the set up is more important. In that game we even started Lichtsteiner, Mustafi and Mhki. Inferior players than the ones we are currently fielding. Yet the performances are way worse.

Silently hoping a fluky draw (with another poor performance) is enough to see emery gone.
A loss and emery out is okay but is there any coach out there that could bridge a 9 point gap between us and 4th?

It's a terrible game to watch: lose and top4 is gone, win and emery stays. It's a lose-lose situation

Top 4 is not gone in early November. A hammering from Leicester should see the fraud get the sack. But if he is still here after the international break, I won't even bother watching the team play.

Good recruitment is the driving force of the club. Should be our model if we can find the right staff.

Sign the players that suit the club philosophy, and bring in and out the managers who will be most capable to utilise them.

We would have thought that was common sense. But alas..

Regardless of what we may create/score; their midfield will dominate ours and their forwards will cause all sorts of problems to our backline. Could see us get hammered here..

If its a case of lose and emery goes or win and emery stays im not against us losing...emery has no future here and it will only get worse if he is allowed to stay

Dont do this to yourself. i doubt he'ill leave even if we scrape a lucky draw (however unlikely that maybe)

Last season we had 18 percent of the ball, before one of our worst players in the team got a red card for nothing. Since then, we still don't dominate and concede even more chances then ever. Leicester are in great form, we are getting battered one the pitch vs midtable English and Portuguese sides.

We will get spanked. I'm rarely wrong. I just hope the board sees what I've been saying all along. It's not getting better with Emery.

Yeah, Ndidi, Tielemans and Maddison, great mix there...always look at the midfield when judging a team, think it’s the most important part.
I used to think that, then I look at liverpool which really isnt all that.

Pretty much all of Liverpool’s midfield are workhorses who have the legs/stamina to run themselves into the ground every game, which is the way Klopp likes his midfield to play..plus Fabinho, Milner and Gini are all decent footballers, think their midfield is a little underrated.

not sure if this has been mentioned yet, but if we lose to Leicester (as we probably will) and Chelsea beat Palace (likely but not as certain), in terms of points we will be closer to relegation than we will be to fourth place

Agree midfield is probably the most important area. But the same question can be asked here too. Under Puel that midfield looked ordinary.

In fact in the 3-1 Özil masterclass game at the Emirates, we made them look very ordinary indeed. (Tielemans wasn't there cos he joined them later in Jan). Which highlights that players can only look good when they are set up well.

Not related to this, but just looking at the stats from that game. What the hell has happened to us. Possession was 69-31, Shots was 19-8, shot on target 6-2, all in our favour. We can only dream of having stats like that at the moment.
Managers aside for a minute. Sometimes players take a while to adjust to the Prem and then get used to playing with each other as a team. Tielemans and Maddison were both new last year. But really seem to have gelled this year with Ndidi. They now look a formidable unit.

The transfer team have put to together a really good squad for £300m+There are no holes.

Arsenal on the other hand have blown most of their money on expensive forwards and neglected the midfield and defence at £400+m.
That mismatch is biting us in the arse, regardless of Emery.

They signed Torreira and Guendouzi who are both very good players and would probably form a good partnership if given the chance. Xhaka and Ceballos are also decent replacements. How are they supposed to legislate for the manager being an incompetent ****? There’s not another manager in world football who’d play Torreira as a 8/10. You have a point on the defence but they’ve still invested a decent amount in that area. Leno, Sokratis, Saliba and Tierney is £100m+.

Our squad is fine and should have a lot more points than they currently have. It’s a squad that should easily be able to achieve 70-80 points with a good manager. It’s the incompetent **** in charge who’s not getting the best out of it.

Leicester’s midfield reminds me of ours from 09-11, when we had Fabregas/Diaby/Song/Wilshere...so much talent, loved that midfield.

Diaby was a great player, shame his body didn't allow him to achieve his potential.

Not sure about you but I thought Maddison looked pretty good last season as well.

Our two squads aren't that dissimilar money wise, compared to City at £1bn+. But the Leicester squad is balanced.

Guendouzi and Willock show a lot of great potential but are young and still learning, Torreira isn't that good and Xhaka is rash. Cellabos isn't used to the prem yet and seems all over the place. They don't seem to gel in any formation, which is probably why Emery keeps experimenting.

And don't start on Luiz and Sokratis. Regardless of Emery, our squad is very unbalanced. Our forwards are excellent but they're not getting the chance to shine because the midfield are getting over run regularly, and the defence are making mistakes.

Even if we get a new manager, this needs fixing. Next year with Saliba coming in we need to spend the sort of money we spent on Laca/PEA/Pepe on a CB and Midfielder.
