Awful decision to be honest. All the players are well, because if anyone has something about COVID, they would feel bad, but PL decide to cancel the matchday today but the next Saturday they will be ok to play against Brighton. So, I disagree with this decision

Not the wrong decision at all. You can have the virus and not feel symptoms, imagine if they gave it to a city player? Think how many times the city players would be running to the crowd to celebrate? Could be 6/7 times in different corners.

People here in Italy didn't care first they thought it was just like any normal flu specially old people that's why the virus got speared quickly. People in England shouldn't ignore it even if the cases are under 200.

It really isn't as simple as people are making out. Everything you do has consequences. Playing it safe could harm people in other ways. Economy down turn and people fall through the cracks and die because of that.

Under prepare and protect an infections and deaths go up. Don't envy the decision makers at all

If one of our players tests positive then it may have spread throughout the squad and staff too.

Only old people and the sickly are in danger and we don't care about them most of the year so why start now?

At the Moment it is only more dangerous for old People, because countries like England, Germany etc. have a good health System.

Countries of East Europa are already closing everything, even if they only have a few People with the Virus. Their health System isn't good enough.

And the countries have to do everything to delay the Virus, so that Not many People will be infected in the same Time. Otherwise the health System will collapse and we will have much more deaths due to this.

Does anybody know the rule on league cancellation scenarios and what actually would happen? Or is it more arbitrary through executive voting or something.

The Telegraph had an article about this
Liverpool would not necessarily be crowned Premier League champions if the season was curtailed by the coronavirus, Telegraph Sport can reveal.

The bottom three clubs would also not necessarily avoid relegation, with no specific regulation in place governing such a scenario.

The rapid spread of the virus has raised the prospect of the Government ordering the cancellation of all sporting events in the UK for more than two months, something that could mean some fixtures never being played.

Were the Premier League season not completed, it is likely crisis talks would take place to determine whether previous results would be allowed to stand or whether the entire campaign was rendered null and void.

Any final ruling could depend on how many fixtures had been played, similar to the results of abandoned matches in some sporting competitions being allowed to stand if a certain percentage of them have been completed.

The 1939-40 Football League season was abandoned after three matches following the outbreak of the Second World War. At the time, Blackpool were a point clear at the top of the First Division.

Depriving Liverpool of their first Premier League title given they are 22 points clear at the top and need only four more wins to be crowned champions would be hugely controversial.

But it would be equally controversial to relegate the bottom three if they are not already doomed when a halt is called to the season given the hundreds of millions of pounds at stake.

The same would apply to European qualification places and also promotion spots in the Championship, which also has play-offs for the final Premier League place.

Rendering the entire season void would mean a decision would still have to be taken about which clubs qualified for Europe.

Whatever ruling the Premier League and other governing bodies made, it therefore would be impossible to rule out a legal challenge from any team adversely impacted as a result

What’s your strategy? Burn all the dead in the street and wait for it to all die down? :lol:Have you not read that the hospitals in Italy are in war zone conditions where they are picking the the people who live or die due to under resourcing? Personally, I don’t think that’s an outcome we should be aiming for.

No they are not, stop spreading uneducated drivel. Obesity, smoking prolonged physical stress are also big factors in how a person reacts to corona.

The measures taken to fight the virus are reasoned and you should contain it as soon as possible, there's no doubt about it.
It is the only sensible thing to do with any disease.

If @rich 1990 refers to the reaction of the people though, then it's a clear yes for me.
As always people panic for no reason, buying food for months like just before an apocalypse, buying ****ing masks for no reason.. it's ridiculous.

The virus itself isn't worse than anything we already have, but there's no reason to spread it, if you can contain it with a few precautious measures.
