Came to literally post this formation.Leno
Bellerin — Holding — Gabriel — Tierney
Nelson — Ceballos — Partey — Saka
Pepe—Aubameyang
In home matches where we're expected to have lots of possession - 4222
Leno
AMN Holding Gabriel Tierney
Elneny Partey
Saka/Willian Willock/Smith-Rowe
Pepe Aubamayang
In tougher matches where it'll be a battle - 3421
Leno
Holding Luiz Gabriel
AMN Elneny Partey Tierney
Saka Willock/Smith-Rowe
Aubamayang
I hate 3-4-3 or 3-5-2. Just play a normal formation and start controlling the midfield, this will help with defending and attacking.
Really like that 442 lineup.Auba and Pepe played up front together away to Liverpool with Willock in a diamond. Those 3 performed really well. Two up top is the way to go when you don't have a false 9 and when you don't have a lone striker to hold the ball.
Auba----Pepe
Martinelli--Pepe
Martinelli---Auba would be my too combinations.
Arteta could have the option of playing a 352 or a 442.
442
------------Auba-----Pepe
Saka----Partey----Willock--Nelson
Tierney---Gabriel---Luiz---AMN
------------------Leno
You have the option of resting Saka for ESR or Martinelli. AMN is preferred at RB as he tucks into midfield and protects the counter when Willock makes his runs.
Or 352
-------------------Auba---------Pepe
Tierney----Saka------------Willock-------Bellerin
------------------------Partey
-------------Mari------Gabriel----Saliba
--------------------------Leno
I prefer the 442 as the two wide players can move between the lines. Leaves more rotation for the likes of ESR, Willian, Nelson and Saka. Keeps Lacazette out and pepe is closer to goal and to Auba.
The players are more than capable of playing in a 4-3-3, that makes no sense.
The fans are too caught up in formation though, it’s all about intent.
Many? They just don’t win the league. I don’t even know what you’re saying now that I think about it, cause the league is littered with average midfielders.Name one club that has played it successfully without a specialist holding midfielder?

Even Liverpool’s aren’t that special, one of them was even here and couldn’t force his way into the team under Wenger.
They lack in creativity maybe - Xhaka, Elneny, Partey are more than capable between them whether you like them or not, so I disagree tbh.
First of all you said “name one club”, nothing about title winners or contenders - there’s a big difference. If you’re waiting for Arsenal to be genuine title contenders then you might as well stop following for a few years cause there’s work to be done. What I’m saying is not that difficult to understand. Every big club that has implemented that system successfully has done so because of a specialist holding midfielder. Barca(Busquets), Bayern(Martinez), Liverpool(Fabinho), Madrid(Casemiro) etc. We do not have anyone in the current squad with the profile to make that formation work to it’s maximum effect.

To get in Champions League Xhaka and Elneny are more than capable as they’ve done it before. Partey was a vital part of a CL team.
Think you’re just having a moan for moaning sake personally.
Success is open to interpretation, you didn’t say anything about title winning teams.I said name one club that has played it “successfully”. What do you think I meant by successfully?

You’re upset over nothing anyways, our players can play 4-3-3 quite comfortably.
