Éver Banega

He would instantly be our best central-midfielder technically. He completely bossed United midfield in the CL knockout stage.

Consistency is his problem, but Emery knows him very well, knows how to get the max effort from him, so having that it mind it doesn't worry me that much.

I wouldn't say that.

Krychowiak was outstanding for Emery at Sevilla.
He wanted him at PSG and he could never get the best out of him again.

It's not the same, because Banega still had a great season and still looks good in form. But you never have a guaranty, even if you already have trained players like him.

Banega could looking for his last big contract. Imagine he doesn't perform and you have to pay his wage until for three or four years.

Yaya is one of the best CMs of the last 20 years

and although old he (and Fellaini) would provide something different to our midfield that Banega doesn't

While it's true that either would be better in the air, Banega is by a good margin a better player at this point of his career than 35-year-old Yaya or one-dimensional Fellaini. Better defensively and his passing, dribbling and set pieces are still high level.

This has a similar feeling to Torreira, Leno and Sokratis, similar sources too.

Welcome Banega, Wilsheres replacement. An improvement on Jack and no wasting time.

This transfer window has truly been unbelievable.

All thats left to do now is for Emery to help the new boys integrate and start picking up points. He has picked the types of players who he knows he can work with. Banega another example.

If this is his first window pre-EL season...what would a pre-CL window look like?

Couldn't be more in favour of Banega, but not if it's at the expense of Torreira. Get them both and you've upgraded the midfield considerably and pretty cheaply. Torreira and Banega for less than Jorginho or Fred? Now that's not bad at all.

I think we will get 2, Santi and jack have/are gone. We wanted the french kid so 2 is a strong possibility imo. We will play the best part of 50-60 games we need a good squad!!

If we're looking at Banega isn't it worth talking to Bruno Fernandes who might be available on a free; dependent on how it works out with Sporting?

They seem to have a similar profile.

Banega is a middling player
Yaya (and to a lesser , way lesser, extent fellaini) brings power and size to a team that has needed it for 10years

Yaya is gifted in many many other ways to. Fellaini not so much but can still be super useful used right

Yaya has lost his legs and is a defensive liability. Fellaini (as I said in his own thread) would provide something of value off the bench IF Emery saw him as a fit in his system (which apparently he doesn't). Neither would seem to be a fit for the pressing game Emery likes to play. Yaya, in particular, would be worthless because he isn't mobile enough. Banega is far more than a "middling" player. He has many of the same qualities as Yaya, but also the engine to fit Emery's system.

Emery has never wanted Krychowiak at PSG though. It was the former sporting director who brought him in.

Krychowiak was a good player, but a bad fit at PSG. He wasn't the type of player PSG need.
