I love this guy nh. Was in a small community before, but Ceballos' ability seems to be understood by a larger amount of the forum now.

Leaving the door open for a Madrid return and I don't blame him, anyone else would do the same

Love the way he opens up before making a pass- beautiful technique. He was excellent yesterday.

On a side note Jorginho is such a specialist player. Can look unbelievable in the correct setup, partner him with Mount and Kovacic and he literally looks like a spare part.

A specialist in failure yeah.

Bit more nuanced than that - neither Xhaka or Ceballos are particularly bad players but I think it's a limited partnership that would definitely get exploited over the course of a season - both kinda do the same stuff and if the team want to go up a level, having both in the team is a little redundant. It's almost similar to the Cazorla-Coquelin problem where having a player who could do elements of both players would have been more beneficial than having both of them in the team - the difference is that while Coquelin and Cazorla were fundamentally different players, Xhaka and Ceballos are far more similar than they are different. Having a back 3 has definitely mitigated their weaknesses to a certain extent but I think our midfield would have an extra dimension if we had a little bit more dynamism and pace, and just one of Ceballos and Xhaka rather than having both of them. Perhaps it would work if it was in a 3 but given the issues we have surrounding creativity at the moment that seems like a difficult situation to navigate for Arteta and the team.
Yeah, I like to view a midfield as a list of attributes that are required.

Him and Xhaka tick off too many of the same boxes but leave quite a few unticked. I can’t think of a player in the world that could make an effective midfield three with the two of them. A Cazorla-Kante hybrid basically.

Leave Theo alone!!!
I think Ceballos is good in the sense he seldom make mistakes and he usually makes fast short passes which is what Arsenal usually do.

This is different from Guendouzi who always look first and then try to give a glorious long pass.

Xhaka is a little different than Ceballos in that he can shoot and will shoot. I think end of the day, you still need someone to shoot in the middle of midfield like Bruno or Mason Mount instead of a defensive player like Coquelin

I used to want Arsenal to terminate his loan but the way he turned around the second half of his season is nothing short of amazing.

His through balls are Cesc-esque.

...turned it right around since the restart especially, feel Emery didn't use him right plus he needed some time to adjust to the league...hope we can convince him to stay permanently if possible.
