Life would be so much easier if there was only one language I reckon, lets all agree to discard all the old ones and makes up a new one for the entire planet...no more "English", "French", "Spanish" etc...just "Earth"

Literally impossible, as language is an ever evolving thing, but I'd still like to see how it would change from region to region given a few generations.

This is both impossible due to the organic nature of language and its relationship with the natural and social environments of its users, and undesirable due to the cultural catastrophe it would result in.

What would be good is for everyone to have a common second language, a universal lingua franca. There have been many attempts at this, like Esperanto, but it has to happen naturally. English is actually getting there because of its global prominence, widespread use in cultural materials and ease of learning.

Like that episode of South Park were all the people of South Park were all the people from the future came back to take everyone's job, and in the future all the languages have been meshed together into just one
I am an architect but actually I am doing a master's degree and researching. My research is about culture, what is it, how it works in people and what it means for our life ... And language is one way to transfer the culture to other people.

So is like a representation of our culture. What you propose is like erasing our culture. Instead our different ways of living would mold that language to adopt our different necessities and traditions. That's why there words with literally no translation to other languages.

They do have a point with the Everton stuff though.

His price tag and how easily we've jumped to the front of the queue does make me nervous. I'm hoping the former is due to Covid and the latter is due to Arteta/Pepe/London.

We've been interested since he was first linked with Everton. Pretty obvious that he was no.1 target on basis we made EL and Sarr on a free was the back up in the event we missed out.

We don't need any scouts now, no wonder we've sacked them all.

Kia's come a long way from his Karmaa kick-boxing club in Chalk Farm, London and his car dealership at Greens of Rainham. Probably retire on his yacht soon on the back of Edu and Raul.
According to Evening Standard: "Edu wants the club to move to a more data and analytics-driven approach which has proved so successful for the likes of Liverpool and Man City, and away from the old fashioned system of having scouts specialising in different locations around the world."

Not sure on the veracity of this as I was under the impression we were doing away with that approach.

Arsenal fans actually reconstructed that pass to be going to Pepe from that ?

Ffs, that's next level

No, it’s a picture from his last game before the lockdown, 21-03-2020 vs Lyon.

Implying he played his last game for Lille probably. ;)

Possession-adjusted - they just create an aggregate based on the amount of possession his teams usually have.
@Makavelii this exactly. According to Statsbomb defensive metrics correlate with team performance better if you adjust for possession since it’s not possible to tackle, intercept etc when the opposing team has the ball.

I’m trying to find out why the same doesn’t apply to attacking metrics. It feels like you can’t pass the ball into the final third if your team (or yourself even) have the ball...

One way to go about that is to look at passes, chances created, dribbles etc per touch you make. Would paint another picture about Gabriel for example. Think he’d stand out quite well compared to CB’s in more prominent teams.

Who on here has actually seen him play? I've not and I've been burned by AM before.

We should be able to snap him up considering NO other top team is interested at all.

Apparently he’s a French football expert for GFFN but he didn’t know whether Gabriel was right footed or left footed ffs similar to our AM scouts.
