I'm absolutely baffled at the analysis of Utd from the general media, and again there on MOTD. All they say is what Utd need in the transfer market, the board are failing etc. Yeah they need better players to win the league etc, yeah the transfer market is very important, but have we lost all understanding of what football is?

The coach has to train and get the most out of the squad he has. If Utd don't have defenders that can play a high line or whatever, then coach them to play a different way. That is the coach's job, and it's the coach's fault and responsibility if the team plays badly. How the hell is Solskjaer getting away with no meaningful criticism of his coaching?

Like the reason Arsenal are boring as f*ck to watch right now is cos Arteta is a decent coach who knows what his players can do and what they can't do, so he's coaching them to get the best out of them as a collective.

@dashsnow17 True but they can't really get a manager right now who is good enough to lead this side.

They have big names in some areas but some massive gaps in defence and a GK that is past his best. They are in quite a weird spot right now.

They bought Cavani who is a stop gap solution.

Asked this earlier, is there any decent manager out there who is out a job that could take over?

Well Poch could take over, that's a simple solution.

But my point is that more scrutiny should be on their coaching, not just on the transfer market. Harry Maguire is playing terribly cos he's slow and shouldn't be playing a high line. Why not develop a different style? F*ck the 'Utd identity' or whatever. Play a deep block and counter if that suits your players better.

Solutions have to come on the training pitch too, not just from the transfer market.

Maguire is just terrible.

Poch managing them if he is free would make the most sense. The guy would transform them to new heights and hopefully have a better idea of the players needed.

Honestly don't know how UTD are run and who has a say in what, mostly guess work here.

Maguire is nowhere near an 80m player, but put him in a deep block and ask him to head balls away and he'll do it all day long. Hull and Leicester just played him to his strengths. Utd should know what sort of player he is and if they insist on playing him they should play to his strengths. Again it's a coaching issue.

If he is not fired soon the ManU hierarchy is just plain crazy. He is in so over his head it is unreal.

Hope he stays though!

Look at where Luke Shaw is going. He is leaving Son and Lamela in the middle of the box free so that he can close down Kane who is at the edge of the box :lol::lol::lol::lol::lol::lol:

It is a great thing. The longer they don't criticize him, the longer he stays there.
Their next 5 games. Newcastle (A), PSG (A), Chelsea (H), RB Leipzig (H), Arsenal (H). I don’t see many wins there.

This is just awesome. Martial is banned for 3 games so the last game will be against us. On top of that they have 3 tough games before us, and an away UCL game in Turkey after us.

Martial sending off was ridiculous. Either send them both off, or neither. We need to stamp out that falling on the floor and rolling around when your tapped.

Personally I think hitting someone to the face is not part of football.

In ice hockey it's pretty basic stuff and you get maybe nothing, maybe a 2 or 5 minute penalty, but it doesn't belong to football imo.

Straight red should not be questioned. Lamela got a yellow, and he didn't hit the face.

Should be no excuses not to win that but trust us to find a way.

Lamela's looked more violent, Martial hardly touched him, and he went down like a sack of potatoes. Having watched the video several times, they both hit each other around the chin area.

Here's the rule.
"In addition, a player who, when not challenging for the ball, deliberately strikes an opponent or any other person on the head or face with the hand or arm, is guilty of violent conduct unless the force used was negligible."

In my view the force used by Martial was negligible. Play acting to get people sent off is wrong, it's as bad as diving. The ref should have spoken to both of them and told them to grow up.

Even if it was a ***** slap, it wasn't negligible, it was a hard slap.

Lamela could have been sent off too of course, but I think the refs might have seen the push with elbow accidental on the neck/face, it slipped there from the body. Or just that it didn't hit the face, but neck.

Makes me laugh that ex players like Neville and Keane think that because man united were once the best team in English football that they automatically deserve respect and to be at the top constantly. I’m sorry but the world doesn’t work like that.

they’re where they are because of not backing José not backing van gaal and for hiring David Moyes for signing tin pot players and taking the approach of were man United we deserve better

They need to grow up
