That is the physical part of it. We still don't understand death and it is still being studied. We still don't understand consciousness and what it really is and what happens to it when we die. And that is being studied.
There is no reputable scientific study into the afterlife, soul, spirit or any other man made idea like it. No point in studying something that doesn't exist. That's not science.
I don't think there will be a disapproval of religion moment. It's likely that countries will become more secular and people will become more apatheist than atheist. This will take a very long time though.
Religion has had a firm grip on culture, customs and our way of living throughout many centuries.
That's not how science works. To come up with a hypothesis, there has to be some basis for it. The scientific method is founded on empirical and measurable evidence. Religion s founded on faith because there never was, or is,any evidence of any kind. Just heresay.
Science has beauty, religion just fills an emotional void.
Yes, it can fill that void by replacing it with logic and wonder.
Billions of neutrinos are passing through your body right now. Only 8 minutes ago they were in the sun. What an incredible thought.
Hey @hydrofluoric acid, 95% of the universe is made of something we haven't a clue about, dark matter, dark energy. But that is worth investigating because reproducible measurements show it's real.
Science doesnt look through anything. We have many scientist in different fields studying different things. Dark matter is no more important than death.
For third time Im not talking about afterlife. But a study that uni of southampton did on people who died and few minutes came back to life. It is a interesting study.
When we look at very distant galaxies, the light that travels back to us through dark matter is warped by it. So, although we don’t know what dark matter actually is, we can map out where pockets of it exist and what size they are.
Science seek to explain thingd we dont understand. The brain is just as much mistery as the space as it stands. The things our brain can do is worth every study that sees the daylight.
:) science is very much about finding out about the unknown. But supernatural stuff is not the unknown, it's fiction . . resources are better spent on real stuff.
Many things you think are super natural because of your incapability to think outside of the box(propbably why you still use excel) may be explained by better experiments and more studies on the brain.
Thanks @hydrofluoric acid. Enjoy a good science discussion. Did Hons Chem at Leicester Uni, then a PhD and a years post doc in Canada.Tried to get a Uni lecturing job and failed :( Went in a completely different direction and really miss it.
:)
Computer simulation of complex oscillating reactions where the concentration of reactants fluctuate rather than degrade in the usual exponential curve. Applications for understanding biomechanical systems in the human body.
Ha ha.
Hopefully I can do something else than teachinh. Im finishing my master in chemistry this year. Im thinking about adding engineering or experimental physicist.
