walcott - 4.5 rusty, wasteful and poor decision making
rosicky - 6 looked nimble tho lost possession easily and didnt track back enough

this is alright. Hard to decide on ratings today, because we didn't have a too hard job, and apart from Song nobody stood out that much. Everyone was good, though, except Theo who should sort out his decision-making.

My perspective from the stands:

Almunia - 6 - A pointless rating though, didn't have a save to make.

Eboue - 6 - Decent performance, marred by what looked like a fairly obvious dive.

Gallas - 6 - Sturdy at the back

Vermaelen - 7 - Provided one third of the good crosses we put in last night (one).

Gibbs - 7 - Tidy performance, forward and back

Cesc - 5 - Good in the first half, but really struggled to find his passing range as the game went on, and wasted a LOT of posession

Song - 7 - Could have been better, had he not been caught in posession a couple of times, and been one of the main culprits in our comical disorganisation from their set pieces. Good on balance nevertheless.

Denilson - 6 - Started brightly, but faded a bit as the first half wore on. Then scored a cracking, if slightly fortuitous goal. Off the pace in the second half.

Nasri - 7 - Involved well in dangerous areas in the first half, and took his goal superbly. Hopefully took him off to protect him for Sunday.

Arshavin - 6 - Inconsistent display - brilliant at times, dreadful at others, but always finds ways to unlock a defence.

Vela - 6 - Started very brightly, and got himself into good areas in the first half. Faded a bit in the second, and got drawn out wide too often.

Subs:

****vestre - 5 - A couple of good tackles, but contributed to complete confusion in defence after he came on.

Walcott - 4 - One good moment, but nothing really came off for him at all. Trying to go through the middle and hiding in between defenders really won't work for him.

Rosicky - 6 - Tidy, but unspectacular.

Song was the best followed by Vermaelen. Their movement and decision making were top class. Hopefully it's not just last night, but they carry on to read Chelsea attacks and break them.

Nasri played well I thought.

Almunia...6...by default

Eboue...7...some good forward runs but dived and is infinitely weaker than Sagna defensively. Got caught on a few occasions.
Gallas...6...looked a nailed on penalty.
TV...7
Gibbs...7...much better than Traore

Cesc...7...played well. Looks stronger on the ball this year, at home anyway.
Song...8...looked better with Denilson beside him. Some sloppy moments as always but strong display.
Denilson...8...like Song, some sloppy plays but kept possession well and made some good interceptions. Good goal too.

Nasri...7...extra one for the goal. Need more penetration from him though. Too safe at times. Wouldn't start him against Chelsea.
Vela...6...not involved enough. The one big opportunity he got he fluffed when Cesc could have had a tap-in if he squared it.
Arshavin...7.5...thought Arshavin was good. Played Nasri in brilliantly first half and nearly scored himself. We look more dangerous when he plays.

Theo...5...had a shot and not alot else. Also had a chance to square to Arshavin for a goal and didn't.
Rosicky...6...did OK.
Silvestre...4...guy is too slow now. The balance looked off at CB with 2 left footers. Can't be anywhere near the team Sunday.
