I've heard a bit about this kid but don't know much about him. Does anyone know about the rule where he can't actually play until he is 18?

Smart kid. I don't think anybody should sign for Chelsea unless they're an estabilished star player. You will learn a lot more by playing first team football instead of Chelsea youth teams.

not only that but even established team players wont even get a game, just look at the people on the bench, they could form a new quality team

Great news.
Good for him. Ipswich isn't such a bad place for a youngster to cut his teeth in regards to English football. I wish him all the luck in the world.

I see he is from Pickering, Ont. Famous for their Nuclear Power Plant.
A bit sketchy to call him a full international though I suppose technically he is.

whoah this is great news for canadian football if chelsea wants to sign him at 17, he made a good choice, i don't think chelsea have a good youth system actually. they should with all the money they have, going to a smaller club and getting 1st team football is much better.

True...though if he's any good Chelsea can just buy him and loan him back. I wouldn't be surprised if this happened with a lot of young talent.
