Not at all, the CL on the other hand; yes!

I think I've lost interest in games without much importance, league games fighting over mid table or even EL qualification, early season games.

I only really enjoy games of importance now, derbies, knockout games, World Cups etc, league games until the end of the campaign dont really interest me anymore.

I tried to create a thread in the football talk about this, there wasn't much interest.

The refereeing is the obvious one that needs to get better ASAP otherwise the eSports will soon take over. Young people have less patience for the cheating and corruption officials offer now. There are tons of eSports content you can watch on the internet that's almost impossible to cheat in professional play.

An idea I have currently is to add one more player to the field that can only stay in the opposition half. Maybe even two.

Then not having a team having to play 10 vs 11
when there is a red card. Yeah, the player goes off, but after maybe 5-10 minutes the other team is allowed to put back on the 11th man. Or maybe after 0 minutes and then the sub would cost 2 subs instead of 1.

Great post, its interesting to ponder over ideas to overcome the staleness (that i myself has also experienced, thinking it was born under circumstances of bad refereeing) that i haven't reflected about in concrete terms. Although i am not sure i agree with your ideas, need to think about that more, they are very interesting

This pandemic has been great for football, a financial meltdown was needed.

Although nothing will change fundamentally, just like when Wall Street crashed the global economy and we ended up in more debt in the global banking system than ever before. Deleveraging never happened. Start over on a lower level, wipe the slate clean and build the Arsenal without the Kroenkes. Unfortunately it'll just start up the same way again. The game is dead. Football has gone insane.

It's hard to miss a game of overpaid average players, monstrous transfer prices and buyout clauses, where some unfulfilled billionaire can turn a club into his personal sex doll. I don't miss the game of data analytics and heat maps. No more poetry, joy, pain and wonder. There are thousands of other pastimes that should fulfill people with an equal time commitment.

I embraced the covid world tbh. I let it in and I found that I liked watching other cvnts suffer a bit, even if I myself had the virus and thought I was going to die lol. As soon as I recovered, I resumed getting off on others not handling it well
You make me laugh sometimes. I too have embraced the covid world but only because people generally get on my nerves. It would be nice in the economy could somehow run itself without people.

It will eventually. Machines will take over most menial tasks and a fair amount of specialised work too in the next 50 years. The problem is that they will become sentient and realise that humans are parasites and it will be the disintegration chambers for us after that. Humanity will go out with a whimper.

You get it, Mrs B. Thank god I’m not alone. Watching people get their just deserts it’s just a bit further down the road to people getting on your nerves, so I’m only little bit more twisted than you. I always knew you had a dark side

Cant wait for the next game tbh. It is the game I like and everything that surrounds the game. The fight, the passion, the disappointment, the success, the fail etc...it is very interesting how football has become an important part of my life.
