Holding you misjudged the cross completely before the goal. Kolasinac just was able to react, Holding has to get the cross.

It's Holdings error.

It was both, you could tell Holding was off the moment he came on. Slow to react to the game.

To be fair, it was pretty windy. We do have a bunch of average defenders, they are all not consistent at all. They have solid games every now and then, but you know the entire backline can implode any minute with idiotic mistakes.

Mate we don't have the midfield to play like City do...and you really think exposing this defense would be a good idea?!
Yeah I still think we could aim for a 2nd, look at what happened after we conceded, scored on just about our 2nd counter, obviously we are capable of a 2nd before sitting back.

We have just won a quarter final, maybe a bit lucky but still won and you have Van Persie & Ferdinand just talking about the negatives.

What is wrong with these people? Inferiority complexes!

Ok great stuff, Rio.

It's not about one game. It's about us being outplayed home and away against many sides, both good and bad. Under Wenger we usually were the better team.

Being **** over a long period means we have structural issues, yet you don't seem to grasp that.

We had much the same problems in Wenger’s later years. It happened against many sides. People choose to only remember the good performances. Fact is we don’t have the quality to dominate teams left right and centre.

The problem also is the players. It’s pretty obvious, especially after half time, the other team will lift their game but the team keep coming back as if they just ate lunch. No urgency, just give the ball back and invite pressure. Can’t even string passes together and keep the ball. It’s so bleeding obvious, they need someone on the team to give everyone a kick up the backside.

How on earth as a player that you know it’s coming, yet you don’t do anything about it.
That probably doesn't help with the other team, credit where it's due but I still do think we can aim for a 2nd before anything.

Am I the only one that thinks we defended really well? Their two goals were clearly offside. We adapted a strategy of no men on the posts and a high line. On their two goals it worked and bar a Kolasanic hashed clearance we would have had a clean sheet.

The only time we looked suspect was at throw ins where ultimately we had to win the first ball which isnt always possible.

We created a few chances and should have had more goals when we were on top.

Think we would have bossed them but then Luiz went off and his replacement Holding has the distribution ability of a tree.

Sheffield Utd only looked dangerous from set pieces. We were largely in control. I like the way we look on counters. Positionally there’s always a man over- opposite of what it was like under Emery.

Pepe, Tierney, Willock and Saka all excellent.

People acting like they dominated us in midfield for the majority and yet we had 60% possession

Yep, all their chances were from f*cking throw ins and corners which they won by kicking it off our players.

Once we have Saliba, Upamecano and Partey we'll defend those better, MABA.

I too thought it was intentional. Before VAR such tactics were difficult because you had to rely on the referee.
