I dont care WHOS NEXT, however will the FA want a first division side in the final??? especially after all the talk about teams not taking it seriously.

I get this feeling they might keep us and United apart, well see.

Ljungberg was excellent on the left as Pires usually is.. this is because we are a bigger attacking threat down the left and Freddie can be more comfortable attacking wise.
On the right side the chances of Lauren being exposed are greater, and whoever plays RM has to track back and help him out.
Thats the only explanation i have for it... i think if Freddie had the insurance that the RB position would be covered effectively, he would do equally as good on the right.

A lot of family people were there i think.

I saw one bit when some steward went to a pompey fan and had a talk to him after he was swearing like a mo fo to Henry, with kids right next to him covering their ears.

we could still have at least clapped a little Jeez. wernt pompey singing "shal we sing a song for you?" that was dissapointing.

Also another thing i have to mention, Those Pompey fans are TRUE fans, even when they are down they still support. Maybe some of the nagative gooners should take note. Support your team ALL the time.

I didn't follow this match live (5AM on a Sunday morning... yeah right) but from reading the match reports it seems we played excellent. Amazing to receive a standing ovation from the pompey fans.

I really hope we can keep this sort of form up, and wish that all the praise was kept under wraps until the end of the season. If we keep this form up then we can go very far. I just hope that we can keep our mentality no matter what happens.

They will. FA an' all them would make a killing on a United-Arsenal final. IIRC, we haven't ever met in an FA Cup final since the Premier League started.

Arsenal + Man United + FA Cup Final = Muey peso's.

And yet this Manc douchebag on another forum I sometime visit thinks that I'm being a "spastic" by saying that the FA will fix it so we don't play each other. Are they all that stupid in Manchester?

I didn't watch the match live but the match reports seemed to say that Reyes is finally settling in. I hope that he will wreak havoc among defences a few games later :D

When are people going to get over this singing nonsense? Arsenal fans are quiet. So? Singing at football matches is a pretty retrograde activity anyway. We pay money to watch professionals play a beautiful game that we lack the ability to play, not to have some kind of vocal pissing contest with the opposition fans. It's no coincidence that the people who care most about singing and talk about it as though it represented an achievement in itself are generally supporters of loser clubs like Pompey and Bolton.

When I eventually get my Arsenal season ticket, I'm going to turn up to the Grove with my prawn sandwiches, sit back, and stroke my chin pretentiously while admiring the play on the field. Why? Because I am a football fan, not a party animal. I'm going there to appreciate a sport, not socialise or lose my voice. I'm not suggesting that the whole ground should be silent (I've joined in with a few "he comes from Senegal..." chants in my time) but how can anyone with any serious appreciation of the game spend the whole 90mins screaming and jabbing their fingers at the opposing fans? Why not pay attention to the football?

If other fans want to disparage us for our quietness and call our stadium the Library, let them. History remembers the achievements of teams, not the decibel levels of supporters.

Fair enough you can do what you want. However it aint like you cant sing and make a bit of noise and watch the game also. If every one took your attitude football would be no where near exiting as it is now. The atmosphere would be dead boring. It Sp**s the players on why do we see players like Freddie and the king Thierry Henry making signals to the crowd for us to make a bit of noise. Football is much more fun at games where there is an atmosphere.

Pompey boss Harry Redknapp hailed Arsenal as 'the best in Europe... possibly the best in the world' after the Gunners shot down his hapless side.

'We gave away some sloppy goals but they are outstanding. There is a gulf in class.

'They have got everything - pace, power. Manchester United, Chelsea and Arsenal are a different level and maybe Arsenal are even higher than that.

'I can't see anybody in the Champions League beating them, let alone the Premier League. I can appreciate great players and it was good to see our fans cheering people like Thierry Henry and Patrick Vieira. Football must not be all about hate.

'We should have beaten them at Highbury in September but there was no chance today. Three down at half-time, it is basically no chance. You know you won't beat Arsenal 4-3 from there.

'I think they could win everything put in front of them. In fact I think I could pick six of them to win the Boat Race. The only trouble is you would struggle to find anybody small enough to be the cox.

'They are all athletes, almost monsters. As strong as an ox. There's no way you can start kicking people like Patrick Vieira.

'And Henry? He's got to be right up there with the best you have ever seen. When you see his name on the team sheet now as an opposition manager you just say `Oh no'.

'They rested (Robert) Pires and (Dennis) Bergkamp today but I wish they had rested Henry as well.'

It just makes you smile when you read things like that.

Reyes was inspirational! Did anyone see the number of runs he made? Brute force and pace taking on 2-3 defenders from the midfield! This kid is very fast! He should of received the penalty kick though!

Lauren definately looked like the weak link in this team! If Gilberto wasn't in front of him playing solid defense, our right side would have been vulnernable.

KoloSol were terrific. I don't think Jens had to make a single save!

Its scary how Jens just rams into people like Yakubu though. If it were manure he would have received a yellow or something worse!

Kanu is a waste of a body, he wasn't even trying to play. He maybe got two touches on the ball and lost possession on both of them.

i think fans in the stadium have to sing as they are the 12th player on the pitch for the team.

the fans give the opponents sides pressure when they start singing or booing.
