Very short turnaround time between seasons if this happens, going out of the EL might've been a blessing

I saw the middle of September mentioned a few weeks back but I thought it didn’t really make sense to stop for two months and then start again. 4 weeks between the end of this season and start of the next should be enough time for most clubs to have a little rest without losing any fitness levels.

It won't be easy to play competitive football after just 4 weeks.

Normally they have pause for 2 and half month between finish and start of the seasons. And organization is kinda bad because some teams need to play in Europe.

What do you mean it won’t be easy? The season will end, the players will have a week or two off and then they’ll get back training.

They need more preparation for next one.No pre season games to give chance for new players who came in club and for managers to establish something different in those games. They will just jump in for next season.

And this season was very long.Lasted for almost year,so it can be mentally very tough to play again in such a short period.Players also need to recover physically, while they'll need to play every 3 days for European qualification and in current competition already in August.

Were you sleeping for the 3 months the players were sitting on their arse doing nothing? The last thing the players need is more rest.

I know,but it's not usual situation.

Clearly, but the players have just had 3 months rest and they don’t need more rest, especially when there’s not really any opportunity to have a proper preseason. These league games should act as a preseason, albeit a more competitive one.

AHEAD OF THE GAME: Arsenal lined up for Community Shield - EVEN if they lose to Man City in FA Cup semi-final
  • The FA are determined to stage Community Shield at Wembley at end of August
  • If City or United reach game, they may have to pull out if they're in European final
  • FA's preferred option for alternative team is Arsenal as most successful in history
this would cause some anger I'm sure

Isn't that around the usual end date? Wonder how they're gonna squeeze it all in with one month less at the start.
Four midweek round of games, I'm reading. And maybe some changes to the domestic cups.

League cup semi should be made one game at neutral venue. Perhaps scrap replays in fa cup from third round. Was gonna say any teams league one and below should receive all gate receipts whether home or away if drawn against a prem club, but then we don't know what the situation with crowds will be by then.

Premier League teams in the Champions League and Europa League have been threatening to pull out of the Carabao Cup if they cannot field under-23s teams in the competition next season.

But it is understood the EFL will not give up the competition and any such revolt would cause a major issue over sponsorship and TV rights which would cause a knock-on effect with much of the Carabao Cup revenue helping to fund the football pyramid.

Premier League clubs might have to offer some sort of financial compromise to get the EFL agreement but the fear is that once they allow the Carabao Cup to be changed it may damage the competition for good.
