Every time I've seen him play I've liked him. He's not great, not a big unit, not the best passer but he strikes me as competent. At least more competent than the rubbish that is Flamini. Should we not use him until Arteta returns? A steady run of games may even bring out the best in him.

He's utter ****. He's even worse than Flamini and that takes some doing.

He isn't the answer and if he started 90 minutes that would be pretty apparent.

Re: Let's talk about Francis Coquelin

He was sent on loan to Freiburg and then Charlton, that probably means he's nowhere near Arsenal quality. That said, I thought he looked good for us in 12/13, I think he had a couple MOTM performances that season. With all the injuries we have in midfield I'm sure he'll get his minutes now.

Coquelin may not be Arsenal quality but neither is Flamini.

I very much doubt anyone will argue that Flamini is Arsenal quality.

Flamini>Coq

The only time COq looked decent was at LB and when he played with Frimpong against City. His other midfield performances were poor.

We're hitting 2015 and I am amazed Coquelin is still here. How does this **** keep happening?

Re: Let's talk about Francis Coquelin

Well, he is on waaaaay too high wages due to our infamous socialist wage structure so it's very likely that no club is willing to pay him as much as we're paying him. This of course is exacerbated by the fact that he's being paid a wage not affordable for a club not high up in the PL, while his footballing level is much, much lower than this.

Hence he stays with us. Like many before him have.

Wenger's still calling the shots.

Dunno why you're feigning confusion...

Seriously why is there a thread over this!? He's here because we have loads of injuries and he's played about 15 minutes in total since he's come back. When Ramsey and Wilshere come back he's probably off to Charlton again.

Both of them should be our 3rd choice RB/LB at best and nothing more.

I don't know which is worse, Flamicoq or Coqmini.

Nevermind le coq, how diaby is still here amazes me, at least wiston bogarde when he was at chelsea was able to train with the reserves!

Re: Let's talk about Francis Coquelin

He was our only bright spark in the 8-2 drubbing and also performed vs Sp**s, he did seem very talented. I would have him in over Flamini for the moment although it is clear that neither is good enough.

Diaby

I think Diaby is one of lifes great mysteries. I mean where the f**k is he? He's not seen at the club for best part of two years to recover and finally try and get himself healthy. Comes back, has a pre season, plays one game in the Carling Cup, you know, doesn't walk off the pitch limping or anything, and is never ever seen again apart from a random photo of him posing in a Christmas jumper for the clubs Xmas clothing range.

Only at Arsenal can you earn thousands and thousands of pounds a week for contributing absolutely nothing to the cause.
