Gunners Want Stepanovs Back

01/28/2004. Arsenal are seriously considering taking Igor Stepanovs back from Beveren. Stepanovs has been playing well at the Belgian club and Arsène Wenger may take out some free defensive insurance during the transfer window.

Is this good or bad news? If he comes back he will only be used as 5th Choice CB I guess since Tavliridis is out on loan to Lille and Senderos still injured

As I hear it he's been a very good steadying influence for the youngsters at Beveren, so maybe Wenger wants him back to be permanent captain of the reserves?

He did help Latvia make Euro 2004 did you guys forget that.. ? Geez so harsh on the guy.. I know he aint Arsenal Material but like I said as a 5th choice CB why not.. have him for the next 5 months..

Maybe Wenger thinks that because Senderos is out for the season we might need an extra backup defender just in case calamity happens.

Remember the Cup Final?! We don't want that happening again....

He'll probly never play if he did come back, but it could save some potential hassles...
