Arsenal boss Arsène Wenger is in pole position to sign Barnsley goalkeeper Heinz Muller for £1million.

Muller joined from Lillestrom for £175,000 at the start of the season and has emerged as one of the best keepers outside the top flight.

Liverpool, Everton and Aston Villa have also been tracking the 29-year-old, who has a £1m release clause in his contract at Oakwell.

This guy was one of the best goalkeepers in the norwegian League before he moved to the championship.. That doesn't really mean anything though, cause the norwegian league sucks. Not good enough to play for us IMO

he's the new mart poom, fabianski would be the no2 if lehmann left.

its a risky move to let lehmann go cos if something were to happen to almunia, or if he started sucking again, we'd be left with 20 yr old keeper between the sticks whilst challenging on 4 fronts.
