Yes and all that time your paying wages to him, buying more mediocre defenders to fill gaps "until he develops" and the same process starts all over again. 10 years from now we will look back and think we still havent bought a decent centre back because we were trying to develop one.

Most loan deals involve the club taking the player to pay some or all of the wages.

Well listen we dont agree. We are sinking faster than the titanic and we need defenders yesterday. Unless we get a few in this summer this club will have another fruitless season.
You're just mad, bro. I understand, truly.

We just need to be patient unfortunately, and hope that they can be creative enough with their signings. FWIW, we could probably be a bit more creative than Johnny Evans and Joel Matip at this point. If we're looking to spend money, a Ben White or Ben Godfrey perhaps. Maybe we nick an out of contract Tanganga. It's gonna have to be about profile as much as experience. It's a building process.

Glad he's signed a new contract and it's just a loan, hopefully means the club haven't given up on him, and at the very least have protected our asset.

Hope he does well there.

Nobody is looking fantastic all the time. We have been sitting for 15 years without a title.
Mate we're not winning a title. Tell me the last time a team with the 5th most expensive squad or below won a title anywhere in Europe. Leicester? They waited 140 years for that fluke. You'll be hard pressed. Wenger just made us look better than we had any right to be.

Nothing wrong with the Mavropanos loan, lets see how he does.

@Toby Andrl must be happy with new recruitment by Stuttgart.

Seems like the magic from Sven keeps sprinkling stardust over there, as they got promoted in first try :)

Yep. Seemed a bit dodgy during the season with missing wingers and then the sacking of Tim Walter, but in the last few games when Matarazzo actually mostly played new Mislintat signings - those supposed to actually become the new core of VfB - it finally seemed to click. Seems the bigger problem than new signings not working out were oldies with big egos, big wages and influence blocking new signings in their development.

I think the core actually looks good, seems well structured and now you need a few additions and a few talents to blossom and this is a good foundation for the next few years to work with and build on.

Well you can always buy a world class midfielder in Elneny and superb defensive additions in Sokratis and Mustafi.

Just in case you need a mountain of a Left Back, we always have a Kolasinac for you.

Very very happy with this.
He hasn't had the biggest of luck and even a very bad injury which has thrown him back a lot.

The guys's still super young for a defender and has very unique traits. He's actually a very complete defender with no real weakness - just needs polishing and hopefully a now injury free career.

Could very well come in next year and be a starter in an already improved side.

Just looking at his raw ability and attitude, he could become a top 5 CB in the league in a few years.

Nah, all ****ed up by too high wages. Once these guys have left for England, there's very little chance you can get them back to Germany if they want to stay on their wage level. Wouldn't want any of them anyway bar maybe Sokratis, but we've got Badstuber already.

For Mustafi I got you these numbers:
VfL Wolfsburg: +49 5361 8903-903
Eintracth Frankfurt: +49 (69) 420970-28
Hertha Berlin: +49 30 300928
Schalke: +49 209 36180

Wolfsburg and Schalke are just well, Wolfsburg and Schalke, nothing is beyond them. Eintracht usually not but you never know what Bobic pulls out if his arse and he loves Balkan guys and they could use a CB. And Hertha has a good set of CBs but they're newly rich and you never know what those freshly swimming in money come up with.

Glad we signed him to a new deal. Will be very good to see him in the Bundesliga. He's got the raw ingredients to be a very good defender. 6'4, relatively mobile for his size, excellent in the air and a robust defender. Not bad in possession either. There's a lot to work with there, just needs to stay fit and build his confidence up.
