Name one thing he is good at, and don't tell me it is "breaking up play"
He has no positional awarenes, is clueless tacticially, cannot run and gets pushed off the ball super easily despite having a low center of gravity. Hardly a ball winner..
And let's not even start with ability on the ball...

I'm generally really reasonable and see the bigger picture(players like Mustafi are not as bad as people make out) but man
Torreira is the exception as he is the definition of useless

Jesus christ, not even going to waste my time reasoning with you, hes a professional footballer, played in the world cup, was getting man ot the match awards and high reviews when he joined, but yeah he's useless

This is the nonsense I was talking about.

Why is he talking to the media about leaving every summer lol, we get it

I think it was a good signing though, just didn't work out, which can happen. Should be able to get our money back at least.
He got lousy agent

Ye he did a nice job conning people into thinking he is adding something with his "running around aimlessly to appear busy" shtick.
Unsurprisingly the english media who love players who "get stuck in" were buying into it especially with their good old "the arsenal are lacking steel"

Emery & Torreira Fraud incorporated then managed to roll off their incompetence on Xhaka instead and it nearly worked!

But Arteta came to the rescue! And as he is not a clueless clown he is not having any of Torreira and is now trying to scam a Serie Club into taking him(unfortunately Torreira is not only a useless footballer but a whiny ***** too so the easier premier league scam seems like a no go)

Sad it didn't work out. Thought he was perfect for us, especially the first half of his first season. Looks like he never settled in England.

All he banged on about was not settling. Think it was an excuse as he knew he was out of his depth. Think he’ll have a big career back in Italy. No reason not to wish him well, good luck to him.

He's a good player. Not necessarily a good fit for the PL and for us. He wants to be a physical player but hasn't really got the body for it.

Came to us on the back of a very good World Cup, it's there for all to see. People who say he's rubbish well... they tend to be chaps on the internet whose knowledge of football wouldn't get them a job in football.

These are not normal times or we'd get the fee back for sure, maybe even more.

He dominated ronaldo in their game. Was so excited.

A signing that made sense at the time at a reasonable price but has not worked. It happens, not particularly angry about it like some other signings.

The entire league was yearning for Kanté MKII, So we got the diminutive South American and hoped for the best. Definitely didn’t work out. Good player? Maybe, certainly not for the English game

As a small space short bursts interceptor and tackler in a system with a compressed midfield, he's a fine player. However its very difficult to succeed with such a system in the EPL above a certain level. Can see him being very good in a Europa League/bubble Champions League team in Italy or Spain, and people subsequently complaining we let him go too soon.

Ultimately the EPL is by far the most competitive league, and if you are a relatively 1 dimensional specialist, you have to be close to elite at it to flourish at a top 4 aspiring club.

Liked him initially and I thought he coulda been good, but the constant crying on and off the pitch is a massive turn off for me.

Good luck and good riddance.

It's the usual suspects. About as much understanding of football as blocks of cheese. But that is what the internet is for, everyone can have a say. Feeling magnanimous following the FA Cup win I unignored a good half dozen of the AM trolls, but starting to doubt my wisdom...

To your point: Agree, Torreira is a fine player. As it hasn't worked out for him with us we can still shift him and hopefully for a not too large loss despite the COVID 19 problems.

Seems to have been a real problem for him here. If he isn't personally happy in England and London better for him to leave and play in Italy or Spain. Sorry to see him go but if he cannot settle in and help the team he needs to leave.

A lot of harsh opinions on Torreira here, the player doesnt fit the style we play and is suited to one position only but lets not make out he is some awful player or the worst we've ever signed as that is just ridiculous.

This forum can be so extreme at times, players rated as either great or ****.

Forreal.

Judging by most posts I'm probably one of the few that thinks this but I actually saw enough promise in Torreira's earlier performances to think that he'd come good with an extended run.

I mean since he was played as some kind of AM destroyer by Unai, has he really had a string of games in his favoured position in a settled MF?

Nope, so I think he needs that before we rush to judgement.

His b*tching is annoying though (I mean isn't this like the fourth time he's said something around leaving or some sh*t), and if he wants to leave THAT badly and we get a good offer then maybe we should consider it.

But performance wise, when we're strapped for cash I think we should give players a proper chance, then analyse before declaring a player isn't good enough.
