Top 4 isn't a trophy, need to focus higher than that then top 4 will naturally come. Focussing on just getting top 4 is ridiculous.

This is where Wenger started failing. Failed to build a squad worthy of going further than top 4, started focussing too much on top 4 and ultimately dropped out.

The only thing higher than top 4 is winning the league. Apart from Leicester who waited 140 years for a fluke, the winners have always been in the top 3 for squad cost.

So unless we get a new owner or start some incredibly smart transfer business (not the laughable stuff we've been doing recently) it's not going to happen in your lifetime.

Cedric, Willian and Mari cost a combined £12M in fees. 3 players who will be key to deep cup runs next season with the schedule.

Gabriel, Partey and Aouar are the main players being targeted this window. Look at the difference in quality across the board in this window and the last one compared to windows in years gone by. Its night and day.

If Arteta is to win the CL in the next 3 seasons Pepe, Tierney, Saliba, Martinelli, Willian and any big new signings this window will be a key part of that.

I think people get confused with your wording and Gdeeps to be fair. Because I see why you say last window caused us to come 8th... because we didn't get a top CB.

But at the same time that window has given Arteta Pepe, Tierney, Saliba and Martinelli. Potentially Ceballos as well. Players who will be huge for future trophy wins.

Also people will take shots at Luiz but he is an incredible leader and amazing for the dressing room.
