138m a year for a play is a too much, no matter how good he is.

Ronaldo and Neymar don't even earn near that ffs.

Yeah, he's probably the best player in the world when he's in the mood but you can't be doling that kind of wage out especially to a player who's past his prime.

It's not just Messi. The likes of Griezmann, Coutinho, dembele are on ridiculous wage. They've spent billions in the past few years and yet the only player that has value ATM is Fati.

These Days most their decisions don't even make sense. They look more like a political party than a football club.

Its a lot of money yes, but its the 'fixed' that needs more explanation, the salary is less than CR7 and Neymar, even Tevez was to earn per week BUT what does that fixed amount include, I dont want to go into image rights and other money clubs receive from having these players in there clubs which then playerd receive further bonuses from.

I would imagine Neymar and CR7 also take further chunks of money after salary, problem is its very hard to find accurate figures on what players earn in total from a club.

I'm not sure they have been, this is his 2017-2021 contract, is that not the going rate for the at the time best player in the world?

Yeah, it looks absolutely brutal, but given it's the old 4 year deal and he's by a huge margin the best one to ever play the game, what else can you do ?

Sell the legend, the greatest ?
Nah, not letting him leave at the start of this season, saving those 130m+ and get a fee, that's been criminal.

Also, they ****ed up the club on other parts

A-M killed Wenger for not signing this guy

Aye, tbf Leicester don't always get it right, they get a lot of praise for their recruitment but they have misses too. Gray didn't work, Iheanacho didn't really work, Denis Praet is a bit meh. The thing is they don't lose a huge amount of money on their losses so it's not that bad, and they make a lot of money on their wins.
