Mate I said zone 4. I'm from Ilford sides with the IG postcodes. We tried to become E19 about 15 years ago but Royal Mail weren't having it.
I used to get tutored in Ilford when I was a kid  can’t remember what the area was though, was on a main high street

Lived in South Woodford back then but have lived in inner London for 10+ years now

Isn't that basically Essex? Ain't that like where Potter Payper is from?

I hate East London anyway, it's either all annoying hipsters, gentrified areas that all feel fake & soulless or just straight up cracked out ghettos. No offence to the Bangladeshi community of course.
I am also from Ilford. You are right about everything. But well, you get good flats for much cheaper. Basically, I spend the whole day and even some late evenings in central London and come home to sleep in luxury. I don't spend more than 10 minutes per day outside of my house there.

Is it safe to pop to the late night shops at 11pm where you live? By that, I mean would you let your missus walk there if you have one very close?
Is it that bad over there in first world London that's it's not safe to do late night shopping runs? As a third world denizen, I am curious.

On an unrelated situation : When I escorted an Indian from Delhi around my town, he did say he was surprised he could see a lot of women outside after 7-8 p.m in my city. So I deducted, Delhi is dangerous at night

I am from India, living in London. I have been to Delhi too. As with most other big cities, both Delhi and London have areas you better avoid at nights. By areas, I don't mean an entire sector. Just some streets or small parts which are mostly vacant and give you those creeps. In most cases, anyone with a bit of common sense can identify the places that have to be avoided.
In both the cities, the central parts of cities are mostly safe. The extended/sub-urban parts are the ones where crime rates are relatively higher. In the highways just outside Delhi, there are criminals trying to block cars and commit crime. They wait there with bats and stuff. Within city limits, both the places are much safer. You don't need escorts or any sort of protection to go around. Just use proper judgement.

London is **** hole.

It can’t be that bad, Ri Ri has just moved here!

London has a fantastic number of top places to eat, drink, chill and there are always a huge amount of events on at any given moment.

But it’s definitely becoming a bit worse in terms of the bad stuff - or maybe the gap between rich and poor has reached a tipping point.

Still, I’d send the missus out to the shops at 1am. Wearing a Rolex and holding the latest iPad - her fate is in the hands of Jah.

You are right about the gap between rich and poor. But the bigger problem around my area is clash between drug gangs. Maybe the economic gap is the root cause for that. As long as these gangster assholes kill each others, it's good for the planet. I have sometimes but very rarely seen cases of other civilians being affected because of this.

The economic gap is not the root cause. It's greed. There's plenty of opportunities to make an honest living but it's easier to make much more money dishonestly.

London is the greatest city in the world. Period.
