jens - 8. goal couldn't be prevented, played sweeper pretty damn well, mad jens against jansen (iirc) twice, good on ya.
flamini - 7. well played, excepting that horrid tackle on gardner.
senderos - 7. nicely played, he was in fine position for the goal and came close for us in the second half.
djorou - 6. played ok. liked his partnership with senderos.
larrson - 7. liked him on the ball, got stuck out a couple times, but also carried the ball well from the back.
fabregas - 8. clearly the class of the midfield, his assist for the goal and his jawing with nolan showing leadership.
gilberto - 6. kept losing passes, making bad passes, and letting the midfield wallow. cracking goal, though.
daby - 5. played fine the first fifteen, then completely absent. still think he's got a hell of a future here.
reyes - 6. tired of watching him drop like a pole-axed deer, but made some spirited runs.
adebayor - 7. should have scored twice, should have taken shots three times in the first half when he was WIDE open on the right inside the 6ybox, but still was very active and making great runs for most of the game.
henry - 6. less than impressed, except at the very last fifteen minutes. i could see him not running when the wings had the ball ready to cross, while ade was streaking goalward. clearly wants the ball at his feet and won't do much unless it is. he's our captain?
pires - 9. very active, ran like hell, carried the ball well, and made some nice passes. nearly came with a beautiful goal, and was overall very good. mom.
bergy - 7. some impact, no mistakes, beautiful through ball to ade he didn't get onto.
ljungberg - 7. if only for covering right back when larsson went out.

jussi is certainly bolton's mom. if he doesn't make his slew of saves, we're on top 5-1, because aside from nolan's goal (beautiful, btw, not much we could do about it except have someone man-marking him rammed down his throat) jens was only challenged once or twice...

c'mon sunderland, do what boro did to chelski...

for a tall guy, adebayor doesnt win too many headers does he?

and how come pires all of a sudden comes up with a good performance right before contract discussions( like bergkamp against everton last season) we should sell them all i say.

I never usually get involved with player ratings, but what the hell? Here goes:

Jens - 7 - Decent job, great save early on, not too sure about the positioning with the goal though - was in no man's land a bit.

Flamini - 7 - One of our better players I thought, got stuck in and did a job.

Djourou - 6 - Nothing great, but not hopless

Senderos - 6 - Ok, but again nothing great

Larsson - 5 - Poor, but what chance did he have of winning any of those balls in the air against someone like Kevin Davies? on a hiding to nothing IMO.

Reyes - 4 - No impact, then went off injured, presumably a broken foot/leg and last contribution of the season

Diaby - 6 - Nothing of any note before being subbed off at half time

Gilberto - 7.5 - Good job, and most importantly found the back of the net, good rating purely for the most important of goals

Cesc - 7 - At the heart of most of what we did and set up the goal

Adebayor - 6.5 - Bright start, invisible in the 2nd half

Henry - 6 - Never really there today, but in typical fashion almost came out of nowhere to steal the points in the dying seconds.

Pires - 8 - Our best today, came on and looked like making things happen, keen to shoot and pass and came close to a goal with a superb free kick and a shot that looked destined for the top corner only to be foiled by the keeper on both occasions.

Bergkamp - 7.5 - Better from him today, like Pires, looked like making something happen, close to a goal with 1 long range shot

Ljungberg - 5 - Offered nothing

WTF how can you say Adebayor has a good touch.

Its like he is being bum raped everytime he touches the ball.
Good touch for a big guy
so let me get this straight, the shorter you are the more exceptional your touch is expected to be? the touch of a rapist is a touch of a rapist, stop dilly dallying, call a spade a ****ing spade. not even own has van Persie's touch, no one makes excuses about height there do they.
