All I feel is relief. I was about five minutes off being wound up for the next year.

Phew!

Denilson, Bendtner,Rosicky and Arshavin - major fail!. If wenger's worried about having too many attacking options, how about selling Rosicky and buying Hazard?

Meh, we'll beat them at Elland road and get into the next stage of the cup. The only annoying thing is having another game in our already packed schedule.

Yeah, but now we'll have to play all of our big guns. Instead of winning the game at home by playing only just a couple.

Eboue 5.5 - tried but was sloppy. improved alot when we were chasing the game

It is generally unhealthy for any people with heart problems to be an Arsenal fan

Fact

Szczesny 7/10 did what needed when needed

Eboue 6/10 offensive + crazy antics
Squillaci 6/10
Djourou 7.5/10
Gibbs 6/10 offensive + crazy cross

Denilson 4.5/10 didn't see him doing anything minus 2 occassion - penalty + the last shot
Rosicky 6.5/10 did enough
Abel Xavier Song 6/10 when did we transfer Abel Xavier?

Chamakh 5/10 in O Broen pocket
Arshavin 6.5/10 good 1st half -
Bendtner 6.5/10 good passer - created the pen - need match practice

Cesc 6/10 I wished we could rest him
Walcott 7/10 super sub against tired legs
Vela didn't touch the ball

Do the Grove has any hospital near it? They should have

Re: Arsenal v Leeds match ratings and post match discussion

Szsezsny - 7 - Had a good game, even went the right side for the penner.
Eboue - 6 - Average performance all round really
Squillaci - 5 - Done something things well, but made some horrendous decisions.
Djourou - 7 - Done well today
Gibbs - 6 - A positive performance coming back from injury, but can do better
Song - 6 - Was average
Denilson - 5 - The penalty was another show of the horrendous decision making that seems synonymous with his low confidence. Done some important things, but too many niggling fouls and not enough command
Rosicky - 3 - How is this guy still getting games for us. He is horrendous. How he's allowed to be our creative spark is beyond me. He struggles with ideas, creatively speaking and those he comes up with are like knock-off Fabregas ones.
Arshavin - 3 - This had to be his last season surely?
Bendtner - 3 - As above really. He's a square peg and this team is full of rounder holes.
Chamakh - 6 - Though he undoubtedly had one of ****ter games for us. He was holding the ball up quite well.

I really don't think Bendtner deserves 2's or 3's

He certainly didn't deserve more than a 4. He was useless on the wings and even more useless as a fotward. Why Wenger took out Chamakh, I can never understand.

This is all that matters. Had he made the correct substitutions and sub out Denilson and Arshavin we would have won today.
His subs saved us the game.

MOTM Djourou, Fabregas, Walcott plus a mention for Sneezy for saving us from a second Leeds goal.
But for those 4 we'd be pondering defeat at the hands of a Championship side.

Rosicky played quite well I thought but he's effectiveness is more limited when he plays with Bendy and Chamakh who both looked quite cumbersome, slow and lacking any sort of sharpness in front of goal.
Shava is a ghost of who he was, I'm really sorry to see that.
I keep thinking he'll click back into gear but it's looking less likely these days.

Song looked slightly off and lacked energy in the second half.

Eboue and Gibbs were competent.

Squid had some hairy moments.

Denilson didn't influence the game as a player in his position should. Anonymous apart from conceding the penalty, some silly frees and having a good shot on goal saved in the second half.

Vela...che?

It's not the players he bought in that's the issue, it's the players he took out that didn't make a lot of sense. Why Chamakh and Song instead of Arshavin, Bendtner or Denilson? Chamakh wasn't doing a lot but he still did much more than Bendtner.

Jury

A-M's drunk uncle
Szczesny 8 - World class match reaction save that kept us in the game at 0-1.

Eboue 7 - Decent performance all round.

Squid 7 - don't rate him at all, but adquate in a game where the back four didnt have much to do.

Djourou 8 - MOTM and absolutely superb in covering, stepping out to intercept and strength.

Gibbs 7 - Got up and down, adequate again.

Rosicky 6 - Started well but petered out. Offensively poor.

Denilson 5 - Hung out a leg and invited the dive, which was duly accepted. Another much ado about nothing performance.

Song 6 - Started well but kept misplacing passes later on. Never had much help around him. Subbed.

Chamakh 5 - Poor display again leading the line. Anonymous where it counts. Subbed.

Bendtner 5 - Poor again from out wide, but not his position to be fair. Looked clumsy on the ball.

Arshavin 4 - Apart from some decent through balls to the pedestrian Bendtner, was on the whole, a liabilty.

Subs: Cesc 7 got things moving sharper. Walcott 7 Always a threat.

If you saw the post-match, you'd know that from the bench, they felt our passing was slowing and inaccurate. So for that very reason he left on Denilson who has a 94% passing completion rate and took off Song. Instantly a defensive minded midfield now becomes a lot more dynamic. Chamakh is also suffering from season fatigue. Ultimately we only needed one centre forward up there. Arshavin has done enough to warrant him some additional minutes to get through this lull.
