Gazidis really ****ed us. Asset management and contract dealings were such a shambles. We spent about 100 mil on Mustafi Xhaka and Perez. The Özil contract is a shambles too, cant give that to someone he knows is so difficult to manage. We had to be so smart with out spending to get back in the CL and thats what he did. Christ sake.

I interpret this as a vote of no confidence in Sven Mislintat, that the board thinks he needs a boss to decide which of the players he has scouted is worth buying.
Seems like the perfect appointment.

Definitely. It's shocking that, for such a stalwart of the club, Pires has never served in anything but an ambassadorial role.
I feel he'd be more active on the touchline and the players would be more receptive to him as he's involved in the more recent history of the club that the youngsters would defer him to more readily.
Whatever happened to Coquelin at Charlton was as good as it gets when it comes to loans.

Forgot about him! That was a good loan but in fairness,Coq made serious attempts to make himself wanted at Arsenal. No going through the motions. He was quite proactive. Not every player is able to do that so our loans out need to be better managed.
