Who is our best midfielder in the past decade?

We've had some World class players in that position over the years and we've also had some absolute dross.

So who's our Best midfielder in the past decade?

Cazorla or Ramsey IMO.

Cazorla just edges it due to his consistency.

Cazorla easily. Not just for consistency. He is better at long passes and set-pieces. I think he is better at defending too. But my memories of Cazorla's defending are a bit cloudy.

Santi, great footballer, but Ramsey was undoubtedly a better player.

AM is not worth reading when it comes to Ramsey though.

The problem with Ramsey is that he had plenty good gamrs and plenty bad games.

Unlike Cazorla, who was consistent.

The odd bad game was rare. When Wenger moved him from the wing to CM, he slotted seamless into it. He was positionally sound unlike Ramsey that was always bombing forward wanting to be like Lampard, leaving us exposed to counter attacks

Of the 2010s, it's one of Cazorla or Ramsey, either is the right answer.

Two of my favs were Wilshere and Coquelin, but it's neither of them.

But if this thread turns into ANOTHER ****ing Fabregas v Özil debate...

He’s considered the first name on the sheet for Emery and Arteta. Even after telling the fans to **** off.

Arteta I think was solid and steadied the midfield for some time.

Cazorla while flashy lacked athleticism and struggled often alongside Coquelin. But maybe you have to give Cazorla bigger credit for just that, having to play with the Coquelin?

Going through the names makes you think maybe this is why we are **** & managers are getting the sack.

Some world class attributes there but not a balanced midfielder let alone two to give the team a foundation.

Quite certain Arteta should be ahead of Ramsey in the ranking, I would argue Arteta has easily given us more good games than Ramsey even though he has played less. Arteta during his first 2 seasons was one of the best midfielders in the league.
