Something needs to be done about our shooting in front of goal. Why is it so bad? We do the hard thing of working the position and then let it all down with a piss poor shot.

Everyone was at it. City in those positions put the goals away.
We for some reason seem to want to walk it into the goal. Seems shooting from outside the 6 yard box is a lost art at Arsenal.

Very disappointing result obviously. Lack of a cutting edge in attack from us, the couple of headers from Jesus a clear stand out.

Also has to be said that West Ham defended as close to perfect as you could get. Chucked themselves in front of everything.

It's not surprising really ,it's been like this for awhile . creatively we are the worst attacking side in the top 6 . We just don't have a lot of cohesion , don't move the ball quickly , we rely on the brilliance of a few individuals .
As long as you let the opponent compose themselves in the way we do you always have to rely on one-off chances

Var en co F ing up as usual But how on earth did we not score. Sure some was bad luck but Gabriel Jesus should have bloody scored. I usually don't scapegoat players but this cannot be ignored.

He's a flop. Came in as a striker that would score lots of goals. He's not living up to it. He can play fantastic football, but in the end he's not what we're looking for.

I really hope Arteta is going to put Trossard or Eddie in the middle.

Kind of at a loss really what we're supposed to do to course correct. We seem to do everything right. We dominate games, we don't concede a lot of chances, we've also started to create a lot of chances and yet, nothing seems to go right for us at the moment. Players who before had no problem finding the back of the net are now firing blanks and we concede despite not concede a lot of chances. Something is not right but it's not really obvious what.
This is why I think we are going to be fine. If you watch the games we are better in every aspect vs almost everyone. Over the course of a season that will get you near the top no matter games like this here and there.

Addition of a clinical striker and we're laughing

But the control has screwed our attack. Agree we look better against the top teams away, but not in mid-table team situations.

What did we do to Brighton last home game?

That is the combination we need to bring consistently. The problem is not that we cannot do it, the problem is we are not consistently doing it.

Arteta knows where the problems are, what he needs to do in this team first, before going to the market. This was not good enough tonight.

Everyone's lost their shooting boots at the same time

It’s not everyone though that’s the thing. It’s just Saka and Martinelli really, and given their age it was always on the cards. Ødegaard isn’t playing in the same kind of spaces as he was last season.

The problem is that our no9 has never ever had shooting boots.
