Human Highlight Reel
2-2 FT between Bayern and Hertha. Only watched the first half and Bayern looked pretty average. Hertha killed them with 2/3 simple passes, nothing special.
Second half Bayern dominated... Gnabry give half goal to Tolisso and he didn’t hit the ball...2-2 FT between Bayern and Hertha. Only watched the first half and Bayern looked pretty average. Hertha killed them with 2/3 simple passes, nothing special.
4 goals after 25 mins, typical Bosz.Great first half in the Bundesliga. Leverkusen never fail to amaze you. 2-2 against Paderborn. Dortmund drawing as well, as Freiburg. Dusseldorf and Wolfsburg leading, instead.
Alright, the past few days I've read up a bit on Union Berlin, a club that is playing its first ever match in Bundesliga right now. In addition to having its roots in the trade unions, the club's identity during its days in the East German leagues was as a haven for anti-Stasi (the East German secret police) sentiments. About 15 years ago, the club was on the verge of bankruptcy and fans literally gave their blood to save it, raising money through a blood donation drive. A few years after that, fans volunteered about 140,000 hours of work to help renovate the stadium.
So today, just before kickoff of their first ever 1 Bundesliga game, fans across the stadium held up photos of fans who loved the club but died before ever getting to see the club in the top division.
Then, for the first 15 minutes of the game, they did this.
For this reason.
Even the club got in on the opportunity to take a little shot at their corporate-backed rivals.
So, Union Berlin may not stay in 1 Bundesliga for long. They're already down 0-3 at the half to the far more talented Leipzig team. But they do represent things that have always been good about the game. So as far as I'm concerned, Eisern Union!
Cheap tickets and food
Big respect for Union. German football really sets the standard for the fans, when you consider the standing places, fanblocks, ultras coordinators, ownership structure etc. Every match I've been to in Germany be it Bundesliga or 3. Liga is a great experience. Cheap tickets and food, amazing atmosphere. Exactly the reason why RBL are despised, no one wants German football to turn into that
What!? Goes to show where our football comes from. I consider more than 30€ for my ticket and 4 to 6 € for my beer expensive. Especially as we don't even have good local beer but that Krombacher piss cause they are league sponsors and it's regulated.
I mean compared to growing up in London and going to games at the Emirates, German Football is definitely cheap. E.g. Standing tickets for €15, my season ticket for Fortuna only cost €250. Several grounds you can get a beer for less than €4 and same for a Bratwurst, again quite a bit cheaper than PL. Can't argue with your last comment though
Yep I know how you meant that compared to London /England, but compared to 10 or 20 years ago what's considered cheap by you is considered expensive by us. You go get a round of 4 beers and pay almost 30€ for 2 litres of piss.
Think I missed out on a lot when I was down there, I think the Kirmes was in town and I didn't realise until I was at the stadium, would have definitely gone afterwards.Gotta go out drinking in Cannstatt after the games anyway. One of the more still grounded/gritty/swabian places in Stuttgart.
