Thierry Henry: The King Stay The King

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say Henry attracted more fans to the club than any other player in our club's history. Anyone disagree?

Maybe, but you can say he was helped by the Wenger revolution - great players alongside Henry, sexy football, success etc

Not sure if this has already been posted or not but there is a nice little 4 minute video half way down this page on the BBC - a nice little insight into how he felt about the invincibles.

His face 3 minutes in is priceless

You can tell he just gets it, he totally understands what the club is all about from that one facial expression

Love the man

Definitely.

Whereas my uncle encouraged me to follow Arsenal in the early 90s, it was Wenger's instant impact that got me following it religiously.

Id say a lot of us overseas fans, with no UK connections, are attracted to success.

There can be no doubt that Thierry Henry was the most important player Arsenal have had on every level in it's history.

There is something about Bergkamp though, call it an energy, or the belief his quality brought.

I don't know, it can be said his arrival got something going.

Pretty gutted he's not a coaching role, I wonder why

Gilberto has been offered a role <a class="postlink" href="http://news.arseblog.com/2014/12/gilberto-reveals-arsenal-offer-but-hopes-to-play-on/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;">http://news.arseblog.com/2014/12/gilber ... o-play-on/</a>" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Probably because he doesn't have much coaching experience or the badges. No matter how good you are you can't just go straight into proper coaching without training.

Sounded more passionate about his Sky role than any immediate coaching plans, in his Sky interview.

Its interesting, because most ex players never walk out on a regular gig at Sky, once they get it.

Well Neville is a full England coach alongside the punditry, I'd doubt Thierry would be unable to spend a few hours at Colney every week with the players if he wanted to.

He doesn't have to come back though for me, not every club legend turns out to be a Simeone in the dugout. Would break my heart if him or Dennis were in charge and it all went tits up.

a little disappointed he's chosen punditry cause it's such a classless profession. but the King will bring some class to it no doubt.

The stone that the builders refuse
Just watched the Sky PL 100 club on TH14. I doubt I'll see another player like him playing for us in my lifetime. People just aren't scoring the quality of goals he did during his time at Arsenal. Simply incredible! Magnifique!

He's definitely taking his badges - and if permitting, he will do them at Arsenal.

What is everyone's favourite goal of his btw? Mine's probably the header against Utd when we beat them at the Emirates, it was a last minute winner I think as well.

Wasn't his best by a mile but I went absolutely mental when that went in, don't think I've ever lost it for a goal as much as I did then.

Just read this as well, fantastic news. He'll be back one day :bounce

Arsenal Quotes

When I arrive at the gates of Heaven the Good Lord will ask "What did you do in your life?"
I will respond "I tried to win football matches."
He will say: "Are you certain that's all?"
"Well, that's the story of my life. It is not easy to win football matches, you know."
