It seems that the senior staff at our academy will all be leaving. No doubt Jonker is bringing in his own people. I'm excited for the future, to see which of the youngsters will get into the team.

Yeah we have fallen well behind in youth terms than a lot the big sides in Europe. Shake up needed for sure.

Leeds are after Aneke. How would he fit in, SiMamu?
It's a difficult one. Leeds need to try and take the creative burden off McCormack as he's expected to create and score everything. Aneke wouldn't be able to play in CM for Leeds as he's too lazy - although there's already the ex-Crewe captain, Luke Murphy in central midfield. Perhaps he could act as a withdrawn striker, playing as McCormack's strike partner, providing the aerial threat and taking some of the creative burden off McCormack, but he won't solve the main issue with the team - the lack of pace.

Chuks Aneke has left the club. He's made a surprise move to Zulte Waragem of Belgium. If they qualify, he will also play in the Europa League. Strange move IMO as he had a number of Championship clubs after him, but it's also a brave move that could work. Few English players even bother playing abroad.

Brave lad. Hope he does well.

damn, I'll probably go to a Waregem match next year when he's there. There's a couple ex-Arsenal academy players in Belgium now.

Clearly a bottler. Had the chance to play for Leeds United and shied away, the pressure and idea of playing at Elland Road scared him.

"Already trained with the first team". Seems we both rate him and really wanted to sign him. Nice we're picking up some of cream of the English crop.

Willock is very very good. As promising as Crowley and Maitland-Niles IMO.

Wow, you'd put Maitland-Niles on the same level as Crowley? Exciting.

Not quite on the exact same level but he had a really, really good season, shot out of nowhere. I was honestly shocked he didn't make the England U17 team. He should have been there IMO. Has been impressive every time I've seen him, especially the two-legs v Chelsea in the youth cup. He was one of our better players. I think he will have another good season at U21 level, will definitely sign pro when he turns 17.

As ever, has to keep working hard - but he is a very interesting player.

Apparently Arsenal have signed 16-year old GK Hugo Keto, from Finland.

He's a Liverpool fan, even had a trial with them in the past too, but because he's got a sensible mind he joined up with Arsenal.

Arsenal have raided Barcelona to sign exciting Germany youth international Georgios Spanoudakis.

The 15-year-old, who was highly-rated in Barca’s famed La Masia academy setup, rejected a host of other offers to seal a move to the Emirates Stadium this week.

A cultured central midfielder with an eye for a pass, Spanoudakis joined Barca in 2009 from Eintracht Frankfurt and has since played for the Catalan club’s various youth teams.

He has been capped for Germany at Under-15 and Under-16 level but is also eligible to play for Greece, with some suggestions that their FA has already been in touch about transferring his nationality in the future.

Spanoudakis will join Arsenal’s Under-18 team for the new season but is seen as a real prospect for the future.
