As for the Fulham goal, Riise was Theo's man tbf. Djourou was sucked infield

Just watched the build-up to that goal again several times, pausing and studying it. Have to disagree mate, Theo kept between Riise and our goal so fair play to him. Theo is the reason Riise chests it down for Zamora (who gets beaten to it by TV) instead of attempting to control it himself and have a go.

That was DJ's position to cover in the context of that play. He was positioned correctly (there was no Fulham player high up on our right wing and bodies were needed more centrally), but as usual DJ was not reading the play. If he had, he would have easily intercepted the cross.

DJ is clueless about Riise's run, and when the cross comes in, instead of attacking it with his head, he turns to run where the ball will DROP on the ground, to follow it out of play or herd it for the keeper to pick up. Suddenly, he realizes Riise is there and beating him to it. Always the same mistake of allowing the ball to bounce in the penalty area, and not knowing what's going on around him.

So I agree with RUS Arsenal, because with Kos there, he would have immediately attacked the crossed ball with his head, instead of allowing it to bounce.

Arsenal Quotes

Arsène Wenger's idea is not only to play good football. It's to play good football to win. In my day, we knew that with our style we could hurt teams and win trophies too. But we did it our way, with the positional game, passing, movement.
