If there's one thing to learn there it's that the drop off from Partey to Lokonga is unacceptable. Needs addressing. His confidence may be low, but I'm sorry, he's rubbish. He doesn't even seem to know what his role is out there half the time.

Okay-ish performances overall. Bit disjointed with all the changes. Vieira needs to show a bit more, very pretty but not much end product.

Poor game from Saka.

I don't see a huge amount to fear in this Man City side. I think full strength we take them tbh.

What I don’t get is why Saka had such a bad game it’s like he wasn’t interested. Otherwise I think we handled this test well.

Very proud of the team and fans. We're out and I couldn't care less. Let them have another fixture somewhere in the schedule.

We've played very well and I could only hear Arsenal fans. Now rest and get Everton.

I thought it would be a given that he is this good.

He is the best MLS keeper statistically. Ever. Knew it would count for something.
I tried telling people here, most were convinced he was another Runarsson.

Good result. We didn't get battered. We've avoided extra games with our relatively small squad.

There were passengers in that team tonight and yet we still only lost by a single goal. A lot of confidence to take into the upcoming games against them.

Absolutely no shame in losing to a more or less full strength City with half a team.

Focus now on the league and see what the EL throws us up in terms of draws. Hopefully we can manoeuvre our way to the semi finals with a similar team as tonight.

Perfect outcome. Mix and match lineup going away and looking really good. We could easily have won that game, but I'm fairly relieved we didn't.

I'm not sure what exactly I wanted. I always will us to win, but what I wanted was to look like their equals. We did it with a much more limited team.

Some takeaways.

Lokonga: there's hope with some off the ball coaching.

Vieira: definitely talented but needs more football.

Tierney: Sadly as much as I rate him as a defender, he can't do this system in possession.

Trossard: absolutely belongs here and was one of our best players.

I think we are winning this title. The game at Emirates will be explosive, and our crowd is a bigger factor than theirs.

As I said, love the FA cup but this isn't the year for it.

We have another competition to win for the 14th time this season anyway ;)

Arsenal Quotes

In June 1996, David Dein, Peter Hill-Wood and Danny Fiszman came out to Nagoya to meet me on behalf of Arsenal. Within an hour we came to an agreement. The Japanese directors didn't try to keep hold of me in the usual way but talked with persuasive arguments... But as far as I was concerned, the decision was taken. Arsenal. A decision that would change my life.
