Mustafi was played regularly in our team. Does that mean he was good? If you go by that argument, all players in a playing 11 are good.
We were forced to play him because we didn't have an option. Unai has named three captains Xhaka, Özil and Nacho. He also plans to name two more it seems. And captaincy doesn't have anything to do with his game.
When a guy has the record for mistakes in the entire premier league, one doesn't have to go looking for the mistakes. The mistakes are right there at your face. It's only the Xhaka fans who are turning blind eye to it.
We didn't disregard his surroundings. We regarded his surroundings, found that there is no reason for him to commit those errors other than his own stupidity. Hence we are blaming him which is fair.

What mistakes? You had games when Xhaka wasn't playing at all and other midfielders couldn't move away from their own box for good 30 minutes. But you ignore that. You have defenders who get red cards often and they almost jeopardize an entire competition, yet they are ignored.

Honestly, I think every top team is trying to find a Xhaka. I actually think Klopp is a huge fan of him. Didn't he try to sign him at the same time with Wenger. Do some search, leave other clubs forums to their fans. I would be completely happy if rival teams/fans would hate me.
