Do you think Emery will get the club back on an upwards trajectory?

The staff clear out doesn’t mean anything really. Could be a sign that Allegri is coming and wants his own staff, or it could mean Arteta knows those three guys are rubbish but rates Jens and Bould.

I agree you can’t read in to who we’re getting but I do think it points to us having agreeed with someone

I refuse to believe the Arteta rumours. It's all bollocks. Makes zero sense and the penny pinching excuse to save couple of mills doesn't pass muster since Artetta's appointment will mean probably missing out on CL. Have you seen how much Gazidis paid PEA and Mikhi to come? No way he is suddenly gonna penny pinch for the most important decision of his career.

If he appoints Arteta it will be purely because he is a baldheaded imbecile.

League is very weak
Maybe it’s between Arteta and Vieira? Both Pires and Petit came out and spoke about Vieira yesterday.

This makes sense too, both young managers and fits in with Gazidiz talking about a bold appointment.

Agree Gazidis does have a hell of a job on his hands but the lure is not just Arsenal, it's the PL, the toughest league in the world! If you want to test yourself to the full as a manager, you have to come to the PL at some point. There is also London. Wenger has just had an awful season, its not like his successor is expected to come and win the treble. The total package is what could land us a manager like Allegri, not just the fact that its Arsenal, although that alone is still a big lure on its own.
Wenger has done wonders with a pathetic owner, in the toughest league in the world. Other managers know the truth. They know it's a poisoned chalice.

Would be weird for anyone to become assistant manager somewhere and think they’ll get the top job soon. Especially if they are a manager (Vieira) somewhere else. That would mean they reckon the manager will fail or move on.

If they’ve failed, you as assistant have contributed to that

Hopefully. But Arteta is quiet, if he was being used to muddy waters he would’ve come out and ruled himself out.
Why? This is great PR for him, even if it's not true. Now in the future when he is in the runnning to be considered by other teams they can pretend he was a serious candidate for the Arsenal job to make him look better.

Think if it's Allegri we can get very excited, it'll mean he's getting a big budget. No chance he leaves such a good job in Italy to come here otherwise.

At the end of the day, you're only as good as the budget you get, look at Pep. Can't expect any new manager to come in and get us challenging without spending, unless we luck out and discover a Harry Kane.

This job is worse than taking over after Fergie.

At United, yes fan expectations were very high, but the new guy had ambitious owners with an unlimited budget if he could spend it right.

At Arsenal, fan expectations are high (laughing at Wenger for 10 years for his 'top 4 trophy' and Mickey Mouse Cups) but disinterested owners and a budget that's 5th.

FWIW main man Chris Mular has been saying it's Arteta well before Wenger even announced he was leaving, his reputation is on the line here. If it's Arteta then he should be regarded as the most trusted ITK in the world imo, if it's Allegri his reputation is tatters...

... but still to be trusted imo.

Arsenal Quotes

When Patrick Vieira came over from AC Milan, he didn’t know a word of English. We gave him accommodation, phone, car and an English teacher. I talked to Patrick in fluent French and before a game I asked in French, can you speak a bit of English to me? Patrick nodded and replied: Tottenham are shit!
