I can't wait until Emery starts analysing our players and naming & shaming.

I imagine his first with us will be along the lines of ...

“Afternoon you inept ****s... I compiled a presentation of the last games defending. I hope you’ve got snacks and you cancel the international break cos there’s a **** load to get through.”

You don't know anything about football if you think that. Wenger's the best tactician in world football, has been for the last 20 years.

And you sir, are the best joker I have seen in the past 20 years.

Wowser. Still picking myself off the floor after that exchange.
The fact that in a head to head with mr park the bus Mourinho, Wenger has only a 1 in 15 win ratio tells a story. Thats not to mention recent tactical masterclasses against the likes of Nottingham Forest, Ostersunds and the usual defeats to the Stokes of the world (who are now relegated, good)
I would take a stab and say anyone that thinks Arsène Wenger is the best tactician in the world over the last 20 years hasnt been watching Arsenal much in at least the last ten.
Its great being loyal but these myths are so easy to bust.
To make put downs/statements about other peoples football knowledge when saying that as well, just laughable. Joker indeed.

We have many types of players similar to Seri in our team
Athletic central midfielder with crisp passing, technique and dribbling ability? I don't think we have midfielders like Seri.

Wilshere is the closest match but he's slooowwwwww.

So we’ve abandoned the exciting project for the mundane Dracula, with an indistinct style of football.

Went to Spartak and got sacked after a poor run of results including a 5-1 drubbing at home against Dynamo.

Went to Sevilla came 5th, 5th and 7th and made no impact on the big teams with a limited budget. Had to find achievement in the 2nd tier Europe competition that everybody laughed at Wenger for eventually falling into.

Went to PSG where he lost a one horse race to Monaco having the biggest budget in the world, and supposedly had problems in the dressing room.

**** me. After putting up with years of WOBs moaning about we’re the mighty Arsenal and should be better than top 4 and should be challenging higher than last 16 in CL . . . . there shouldn’t be a single WOB happy with a very average Europa League specialist.

You can have the best ideas in the world but if you’re literally boring people to sleep with them then you’re never going to completely win over the dressing room.
I don;t think that is what they are getting at. I had a teacher like this who would drum the 12x table into our heads every Monday. That was more than twenty years ago and to this day if it comes to the 12x table I am like a calculator. 1-30 I can give every multiple of 12 out of my head. At the time I thought it was ridiculous and boring but it was one year I nailed maths (albeit arithmetic) and we hailed him as one of our greatest ever teachers.

I'm happy to be bored with my boss's methods so long as they bring about great reward when the business is going and it counts.

I agree and its sad to have it hammered home that this is the biggest statement we could make. We were all looking at top managers and hoping and preying but reality has reared its ugly head and slapped us all around the face. The current Arsenal is not what it was and with our current owner we are unlikely to be there again. Emery is a good appointment, much better than a manager who has proved nothing, he'll do a good job and maybe if all goes well we can get back to top 4 but that for now is our ceiling.

Such bullshit, sorry. Who would you have wanted? Who's out there who is clearly better than Emery and attainable?

There's maybe Allegri and Jardim of the established guys. But tbf, there's not too much separating these two from Emery. Same level for me.

Guardiola and Klopp are under contract, are you the next guy to retrospectively wish death upon Wenger so we could've tried to get one of these? Feign the club identity to bring in gaucho crook Simeone who himself has to fall back into the EL to win titles cause he obviously can't win the CL?
Do you want Ancelotti, the saturated did it all Italian, who's looking for an easy job in lovely London cause he doesn't want to retire early? Or Sarri, a racist, homphobic Italian retirement home resident, who's kinda lucked into a perfect situation with Napoli but was ****ing plumbing through Italy for the last 80 years and still hasn't managed to actually win anything? Or the next Italian stallion, Antonio Conte, who instantly managed to win the Premier League, but as of his second year has been sabotaging his club and squad, gloriously leading them to a 5th place so he can finally return to Bella Italia? Luis Enrique, the poverty mid-table Guardiola gifted a triple by Messi, Suarez and Neymar but failed at Roma, who wants to earn 15m but should probably be glad if he could get back to Celta Vigo?

Two years ago Unai Emery was one of the hottest properties out there, having won the Europa League 3! times back to back! with Sevilla, Spain's no. 5 or 6 team. PSG, a club arguably "bigger" than Arsenal right now, with more money, "higher ambitions" trying to win the CL, hired him 'cause they thought he was the man to do it. He won 5 out of 6 domestic trophies, but failed in the CL, like any manager at PSG has and will, cause it's a ****ing circus. A guy who has been deemed good enough to lead the CL charge for one of Europe's current football powerhouses is not good enough for Arsenal? It could've been a tad more leftfield, but going by established, tactically well versed and successfull Emery is as good a shot as Allegri or Jardim and arguably better than Benitez or Rodgers. This is exactly the statement needed: Look, we've got ourselves a young manager, but experienced, tactically astute and on top of the modern game, successfull, who has won trophies on domestic and international stages and who's just last week been managing PSG.

Athletic - Ramsey, Dribbling - Wilshere and crisp passing - Apparently that fraud Xhaka?

The point I was getting across is do we have a profile like N'zonzi in our midfield? I think that's more a priority now.

Thanks for the rant, I said Emery is a good appointment. My point was that with our current owner we are no loner a top club, top 4 is our ceiling, if you think Emery can win the PL then I'm pleased for you.

That Monaco team weren’t **** by the way. Had we signed Lemar they’d have sold half the team for £400m and still had players like Fabinho and Sidibe. People are acting like it was a team of average players winning the league.
They got 95 points (1 point off the record) in the league that season too while Emery's PSG got a respectable 87, let's also remember they battered Man City and made it to a CL semi-final.

I think Emery in his first season at a team like PSG can be cut a little bit of slack for finishing second to them on 87 points.

I Know Who You Are
Don't know if it has been mentioned already but Julien Laurens (well known French journalist and PSG fan) was on 5 live last night.
For those who missed it/not in this country he was saying that Emery made PSG play a high tempo, quick passing, aggressive pressing game which worked brilliantly in his first game as they hammered Lyon 4-1.

However the players went crying to the president saying they wanted to go back to the more conservative style they were familiar with and played under Blanc (it also takes less effort) and he was forced to change back.

So it's all well and good saying he couldn't win the Champions League with PSG but it isn't always that straight-forward.
