You say that and in a normal year maybe yes.

But we are going to bank massive.losses this season. So you equate this to incoming spending on players is probably setting yourself up for disappointment.

Forcing a global star out of the club, and consequently terminating his contract is not a good look for the club. Likewise Özil doesn't come out of this shining with glory either. Just an all round ****show.

Yep, pretty much this. I don't really want to see the club give out that sort of money to a player again. The only exception is if we get a Thierry Henry type level player again that is in their mid 20's.
