Crystal palace twice wolves Chelsea Sheffield we lost 11 points from these game because of inability to finish the game off. Maybe from niw our players score 2 a game because at this rate we'll end the season with 20 draws.
Excuse me for not having the attitude of a casual scoreline-checking football watcher when it comes to analyzing teams. We don't have the quality, that's why we are not getting results.
If you can't see the improvement in the way the team is organized, you are either having amnesia about the pre-Arteta days, or aren't paying enough attention. Our midfield offered zero resistance before Arteta because they were too far apart from each other and our defense, giving teams a ton of space to operate with. That's no longer the case, which is why we are giving up far less chances and conceding less goals.
What do people think of Pepe? I'm really not convinced he's very good.
I can't see any improvement. There is as much disorganisation and lack of shape as before.
He shouldn't be on the touchline in the middle third surrounded by 3 opposition players, with none of our guys near him. Weird indeed. He's looking like a mess in situations we shouldn't put him in. Doing some weird stuff.
Will become good when we are more consistent as a team.
That's not true. We had plenty of chances to kill this game. Look at the number of 4 v 3 and 3 v 2 we created in the 2nd half but couldn't even get a shot of because of poor decision making.Since Arteta took over we are on average conceding just under 1 goal a game. It really should have made us pick up a lot more points than we did. We drew most games because we are also scoring on average 1 goal a game. People having a go at the likes of Pepe and Laca but we are hardly putting any sustained pressure on our opponents. The only time we did was the first half against Man Utd. We scored twice just in that half alone and could have scored 3 or 4 more.
P.s. **** the ref/VAR. It seems every single game we play when there is a contentious incident it always goes against us.
Anyone else get filled with murderous rage, when Mike Riley popped up on screen?
Lol! Imagine thinking you can correct a team in one month and suddenly become city. Some people really reflect the reality of modern times. No patience at all. That combined with people’s lack knowledge of football results in this kind of “opinions”. No senseSo before we were drawing and losing matches why? Because we had poor organisation under Emery. Players didnt know what they were doing? Now our organisation is much better and we press and now the problem is quality.
That arguement may work if we were playing some other teams. However dropping points at Bournemouth's, Palace, Sheffields and scraping past Leeds doesnt hold.

Let's not compare our situation to City's. They're not performing at their true level because it's not easy to be at the top of your game 3 seasons in a row. They're still levels ahead of us.City drew at home against Palace. Guess City are **** too then.
We still had a lack of quality under Emery, it was never just a lack of organization. We are playing better under Arteta than we did under Emery, giving up far fewer opportunities.
We don't have the quality to put games away, so we end up having to protect leads often, and our defense just isn't good enough to do so. Even though we give up far fewer opportunities, we still end up conceding.
There's an element of luck in there as well. Chelsea game would've been won had Jorginho been sent off like he deserved to be. Both Leeds and Palace games featured the disastruously slow Xhaka-Guendouzi pairing because of Torreira's injuries. Today, Aubameyang was out suspended and our attack clearly missed him.
Things have improved, but it's from an extremely low bar. Under Emery we were conceding around 11/12 shots a game which was horrendous, defensively we're better there's no doubt. From an attacking standpoint, if there's an improvement it's minor. We have an extremely average group of pure footballers. Sheffield United had players that could match us for speed, power and even technique. this is a bang average squad that has a HUGE summer of recruitment ahead. As for this season, it's a write off.Folks il leave this here.
Many of you are saying
"We looked solid against Sheffield United".
Go and repeat them words and think about it. We have picked up as many points as Emery would have and while I want Arteta to be given a shot fans please stop pretending that things have improved. This season is lost. It literally is a waste of time tuning in to watch us because we cant win. As a team, a club, we cant win football matches anymore.

So the quality of Özil, Lacazette, Pepe and Martinelli isnt enough to score 2 goals in a game? Time to sell them all baring Martinelli then.
