The vast majority simply see this as his chance to do well and could potentially become a good player for us based on how he does over the next couple of weeks. No one's really hailed him as one of the best strikers around, never mind the second coming of van Basten. I guess you read what you want to read.

You're just bitter because he didn't shake your hand. :D

Bendtner is about as good as any backup striker in the league, really. There was a pretty funny stats comparison doing the rounds last year that put him up against Berbatov. Not only did he play roughly half as much - his stats were better all across the columns. And he costed a fraction of what The Don did.
