Thing is he'll be here next season and will get a lot of money to spend. Just have to hope he signs the right players, because there is a lot of potential in this squad.
The worrying thing it's not about signing right player he signed right players this season the problem is we inability to get results when things aren't perfect

I know people don't like when Wenger is brought up, but he saved this club so much money. Refused to just spend it willy nilly, only for it to be wasted on someone unworthy. It's actually wild the way this club operates.

Honestly why do we put young attackers who are doing well for the u23 on the bench with no chance of playing. Omari is doing well for the u23, you put him on the bench for the Brighton game and then this and both games he makes exact same changes. Why not try something different?

Well that was a damaging defeat.

Spuds drop points and we don't take advantage.

I get in January it's tough to get your top tier players but even a back up striker would of been the difference for us.

Costly mistake from Mikel & Co.

Even our set piece coach gone downhill after the break what with Cedric taking free kicks and corners? This guy can't even make 1 good cross.

Seriously wtf wrong with everyone did they take drugs during international break or what. We gone from top 4 side to total different team.

Arteta post match today is awful can they ask him next time if they practice finishing?

55 attempts 1 goal last 3 games from a deflection is pathetic stuff.

Only ones to pass the grade today were Nuno and Martinelli. Nuno because he was ok and after what’s he’s gone through with in and out of the team and the blame lately that’s very strong imo.

Martinelli because he seems to be the only one in our squad who actually wants to try and get a goal in

I say this after every match but there's always some ridiculous circumstance that sums up what an absolute joke Arteta's tenure here has been. Today I think it's that he was forced to start a player who was the 3rd choice striker at the beginning of the season(and wants to leave in spite of no club near our stature having any interest or willingness to improve his wages) instead of a player who also wants to leave, hasn't scored from open play since Sir David Attenborough was in diapers and began the season rotting on the bench. Those were the options because he fell out with and completely neutered a player who has scored for literally EVERY OTHER MANAGER HE HAS EVER PLAYED FOR.

I genuinely struggle to remember another instance of a manager being hated so much by 3 players who previously were happy to be at a club, two of whom will never sniff higher wages or another club as big as this one even in our present sorry state. For anyone to believe this fool is moving us in the right direction is a joke. Why would any young striker look at the way he publicly alienates players or how his "system" gimps world class talent and think that's what their career needs. Frankly I'd be very suspicious of anyone willing to sign for us with this melt in charge. They're probably just looking for a stepping stone or payday.

Generally clubs rely on strikers to finish chances and he has us paying the only reliable one we had to score for Barcelona. That's not to exonerate those who fluff chances here but when the club is missing goals and you just give away a prolific striker not over his struggles but over a personality clash, it really does require an inquest.

That gamble was too big not replacing him is even worse. Seriously we have near 20 attempt a game this season but can't score this just not good enough the finishing since he took over is so bad

Yes, it's unforgivable and totally negligent. He and Edu are to blame.

When we go behind like today the only alternative solution seems to be to throw as many attacking players on in random positions that doesn't look in any way rehearsed. Even then we don't really take charge of the game. First noticed it in that away defeat to Villa last season.

Arteta complaining about issues he is responsible for, can't blame this on poor luck.

He took a very big gamble and it hasn't paid off. The fact we didn't bring players in suggests he is here next year wherever we end up in the league. Results didn't matter it was all about the longer term project

All we had was half chances that came on the back of ricochets, deflections and hopeful crosses. We rarely managed to isolate any of our dangermen against their defenders.

The intentional part of our build up play was slow, laboured and easily nullified by Southampton.

If Arteta’s conclusion from all this is the lack of quality of our finishing then we are in serious trouble.

I don't want to be silly about this, but if we'd won the last three games, the table would look like this:

1 - Man City - 74 points from 31 games
2 - Liverpool - 73 points from 31 games
3 - Arsenal - 63 points from 31 games
4 - Chelsea - 62 points from 30 games
5 - Sp**s - 57 points from 32 games
6 - Man U - 54 points from 32 games

So yeah.

This is exactly right the build up was midtable quality .
