Carl Jenkinson has announced that he will be back in training on Monday morning after a lengthy spell on the sidelines.

The right back, who has been on-loan at West Ham over the past two seasons, returned to the Gunners over the summer and has been working his way back to full fitness.

The 24-year-old sustained cruciate ligament damage while on loan at the Hammers and has not had any first team action for over nine months.

However, he took to his personal Twitter account to express his delight at returning to the first team Gunners fold.

“Back in full training tomorrow,” Jenkinson said. “Feel like a little kid on Christmas Eve.”

Chris Coleman frustrated as injury rules Aaron Ramsey out for Wales

Ramsey still not near to making his return. Broke down in training;

“I had an indication he would only be out for three weeks when he initially did it,” Coleman said. “That was six weeks ago. So I don’t know now. I have had more information from Sean Connelly, our head physio, who is liaising with Arsenal, that he has broken down in training. That came from Arsenal to Sean. We have not yet been given a date on when he will definitely be back.”

He always struggles with hamstring injuries. I fear he might need an op.

I hope too see some positive Giroud and Ramsey news during the week. We need them cause they bring something else when they come on. We need different dimensions to our game if we want consistency and challenge.

I’ve told Dave to cut off his ponytail. I think it makes him less aerodynamic.
