Ultimately, if the EPL had goalline tech we probably draw or win vs Newcastle & WHU at home, but somehow their billion cameras can't tell if the ball in or out of play.

Equally if Trossard's shot vs Villa is 6 inches to the left we win the game.

Smallest of small margins.

Not to mention the incredible run of opposition strikers missing sitters that City have managed to conjure up. I would suggest someone needs to check Chris Wood's bank account if he didn't do exactly the same a week later...

And even if all of that is the same, Son runs through and buries that chance and suddenly we are going into the final game just needing a home win against Everton.

The fairest thing to say is that City and Arsenal have both been of more or less equal standard and variance explains the 2 points difference. You can't really ask for more than that given we were finishing midtable 3 years ago.

Perhaps, that being said though, I think we have other games where criticism is more due. We did very well against the traditional top six (6-4-0). The games against Fulham and West Ham are maybe those you'd look upon with the most regret.

The Fulham ones were shockers. It's the Villa ones for me - lost both and didn't even manage a goal. The home game being especially brutal.

At the end of the day, it's on us to be honest.

After getting that away draw at City, we HAD to win all our games to win the league...in a title race you have to take advantage when you have the chance.

In.1998 when we had the chance, we took it and won 11 games in a row to win the league...in 2002 when we had the chance, we took it and won 12 games in a row to win the league.

After City away we needed to win 9 in a row to do it, and for whatever reason we didn't.

All we can do is try even harder next season when we get that advantage, we don't lose it.

On the eye, we’ve been the best team in the PL (well specifically in the second half of the season) and even the City fans know that as do the other traditional big 6 fanbases. Rival fans aren’t really honest when they see a team progressing but some of my friends who support those traditional big 6 teams couldn’t even hide the fact that Arsenal have been the best team in the PL which makes it an even harder pill to swallow by missing out on the league in that fashion.

We can get bantered over the summer as much as they want but deep down they know that we will be there next season. We’re on an upwards trajectory and there’s not much those teams can do tbh.

If we lose the league, it's because of the results vs Fulham. Bang average team where we couldn't win....
Results vs Villa are also a disgrace, but you can lose a game VS them this year. Great team.

Also these VAR moments against a team like Newcastle. Or the loss against WHU (Lol, they actually won a though away game)....

And last but not least that Son guy. Bangs in 17 goals, but can't finish a simple goal vs the 2nd keeper of Man City....

They even call it a good save by Ortega. It's just a horrendous effort from Son. Even my nephew would have shot that shot better ffs

These results are always within us tbh. It’s a theme of Arsenal for the last 20 years. With what it takes to win the league, we don’t have the minerals to be able to do it. We will drop silly points next year too and lament the fact that we came up short again if we are in a similar position next year

Liverpool backed up their monstrous points total in 18/19 by blowing the competition away in 19/20. You have to trend a 90+ point season over the course of a season against City. Not from January but from the beginning of the season.

If we carry on our second half of the season form next year then we should be optimistic. We need proven goalscorers who can play in wide areas. We have the capability of throwing in a stinker of a performance at any time but we need to have built up a buffer by the time we do.

You have to look at Fulham, West Ham and Villa especially. The team improved from last year despite this bizarre Havertz reclamation project damaging us in the first half of season. We lost it early. Everyone knows City never lose after Christmas virtually, and had an easier run in. We needed to be ahead or it was over.

Still there was improvement over collapsing last year. We did really well in league against all our top rivals but Villa. Still we need more quality players, no more projects. It will be hard to get this many points if we bank on our top stars never getting injured like this season
