Is it better to experiment in the first part of the season or in the end?
You think that we must play the whole season without tweaks?

Gabriel was dropped in 3 matches (2 wins, 1 draw) when transfer window was still open and it was reported then that he received offer from Saudi Arabia and was seriously considering it.
When the transfer window closed and he decided to stay, he played again,
The Gabriel dropping effect is overstated. Yes, he has been hugely influential since then but in the games he was dropped it is 2 W 1 D. That draw is because of Saka fecked up back pass which right away put us in the backfoot (Gabriel isn't magically stopping that) and a set piece goal later.

You would have thought the people who were saying how they couldn't see Liverpool dropping any points a few weeks ago might have changed their tune on Man City

Weird results happen in title races all the time. Yes Man City are better on paper than any side they will face, it doesn't mean the matches will necessarily play out like that though.

In fairness, Gabriel (by being on the pitch) might have stopped that. The back pass wasn't scuffed or miscued, it was deliberately and confidently placed there. Unfortunately, it was an automatic pass from last year's passing patterns, not from the experimental Partey-as-a-full-back passing patterns.

Considerable number of arsenal fans wanted Wenger out from as early as 2012 when we used to finish 2nd or 3rd regularly in the league .
It doesn't matter whether havertz was signed for 60 or 70 million, the thing is Havertz is a failed signing, bad signing happens everywhere,Chelsea signed lukaku for 100 million, madrid signed hazard for 100 million, grealish was benched for one yr by guardiola after city spent 100 million on him. The thing is great coaches acknowledge bad buys and change accordingly, while here we have an egocentric manager who want to prove he didn't made a mistake and fans who are gullible

When exactly did we finish 2nd in the league regularly around 2012?

Indulge me.

Nah, I don't think he's stopping. I just went and rewatched that, felt like Saka wanted to pass to White but mishit too powerfully

And this exact thing happened just last match vs Chelsea as well (Saka again) but thankfully ball just went for a corner only and not to a Chelsea player.

Listening to these people you would think there are is no point in even playing the games. Might as well hand the title to City and save everyone's time.

Pull yourselves together, there is always hope and we are well into this fight.

Turns up only when we lose

Fascinating thread 🍿

We just lost to bloody wayne Bridge at Highbury on that day (knocked out of the UCL, despite us beating Chelsea numerous times that season in the league and fa cup) also the wider discussion of Wenger in Europe discussions and why our team failed to rise up in Europe (we couldn't hack Spanish teams them days for example).

Context matters. Overall history has proven that Wenger could not hack European football from his times at Monaco or Arsenal. If you thought us getting knocked out by PSV or 2005 Bayern, John Carew, Wayne Bridge were embarrassing or the later teams such as Monaco 2015, look at Wenger's Monaco teams and the capitulation were as worse.

The bad news is the league was over the moment villa won at Emirates .

The worse news is city will strengthen their squad this summer and wil be there again next season to compete till the end.

In another news ,arsenal doesn't want to sign a striker this summer because they believe havertz and jesus are enough

If we win vs Sp**s we're big favourites to win them all. United are terrible, and even though its never easy for us at OT we are much better. Their season is over anyways. That scenario would bring us to 89 points and I'm sure City won't win every last one. They play Sp**s away three days after Fulham.

If we lose/draw at Sp**s things will look bleak, but 86/87 points doesn't mean it's over. City go to Forest, Fulham and Sp**s and play Wolves and West Ham at home. They are favourites but I can see two slip ups in there.

Please don't remind me of that game. Honestly. The capitulations in Europe under Wenger wrecked my childhood. His record in Europe was appalling.

Brighton was even worse than expected with their injuries, but didn't have much hope there.

If Arsenal wins all the four games, and City wins four but draws one, Arsenal will win the title by goal difference.

Winning Chelsea 5-0 was very important, the goal difference is now 8. Arsenal won City and drew, so that's another "goal". So the GD is 9.

It's all up in the air still.

Sky Sports on twitter was saying "City are CREEPING up against Arsenal" in regard to the GD after they scored the fourth today. Which is a funny way of saying Arsenal extended the GD lead by one after both games were played.

Arsenal Quotes

It was a unique moment, a football fairytale. Was there anyone left who still believed I could give that kind of performance? Probably only Arsène Wenger.
