That was our most dreadful performance in the league since that collapse at Newcastle at the backend of last season.

It is imperative we win this or doubts will start to creep and there can be no doubt in a title race especially against City, a declining one, nonetheless, otherwise when doubt creep in, especially in a young side like ours, you have yourself another title bottle job. But we should see off Brentford at home fairly easily.

Worth acknowledging, whilst it should have been called offside, they had players in the danger zone waiting for a chance to come. Fast forward to us late on we had the ball in a similiar position with not one player in the six yard box. We need players breaking a neck to get into that area instead they all hold back waiting for a cut back.

Toney was incredible yesterday, virtuoso #9 play. He won every aerial duel vs Saliba. Yet we still were ****ed by VAR and should have scrapped a 1-0 win.

Reminded me of Adebayor v United in 2006, Henry was injured so we had to play Ade up top on his own...he was a monster that day, even peak Ferdinand couldn't lock him down.

Would love us to sign Toney, but can't see it after this weird feud he has had with Arsenal recently...would be a little awkward 😅

The officials are starting to rely on VAR far too much, The refs are getting afraid to make a decision in case they get something wrong so they are using VAR to make the big decisions for them and then you get the people that are doing the VAR checks getting things wrong also, I think we should have accepted that the refs got things wrong every now and again instead of trying to make things perfect every time.

Feel like set pieces are one of the weaker areas of our game recently.

Feel soft at both ends

On Portuguese television, commentators were saying something I agree with. This is the first bad spell Arsenal has had in the whole season. We weren't supposed to be in this position and it's just natural that we can't keep winning game after game after game.

European competitions are starting again and we have a small advantage over City in that aspect, as we only come into play in the next Europa League stage. They will begin playing mid-week sooner than us.

I expect them to win today against Aston Villa. We can't afford to lose our Wednesday game against them, no matter what.

When it comes down to it. There is a lot of clamour for Jesus to break down a deep block.

Personally I feel we lack ball carrying , dribbling and goal threat from that left half space.

ESR is all of that. When you look at the game state where we are penned in their half. Gabriel and Saliba with a midfield 3 of Partey Zinchenko and White, it practically makes Xhaka redundant.

Doubling up on Martinelli leaves space on the left half space. If Martinelli draws two and then flicks it to Xhaka, nothing can happen. We lack rotations. Even bringing on Trossard for Xhaka would have made more sense.

You don’t just put a forward player in midfield, the roles are completely different. That left midfielder has a lot of defensive responsibility, positional responsibility, duels and battles to win etc. It’s not just about what they do in the box.
Why is it about the left midfielder when you need a goal? What about the striker, right winger, left winger and attacking midfielder?
You have to wonder how Liverpool cruised the premier league with a midfield of Henderson, Wijnaldum and Fabinho. None of their midfield had attacking threat. It’s because the forwards and wingbacks always delivered.

So is that an official stand now that the goal shouldn’t have been allowed? I’d open an investigation into whoever was responsible for that to probe for potential match fixing. You simply do not make mistakes like that unless there is an incentive to do so or you are a cretin.

It's Lee Mason. Cretin it is.

Apparently Mason also the one on VAR for our Manure game at Old Trafford where he denied Martinelli a valid goal.
Man‘s a totally incompetent prick. Should be sacked for the rest of the season, undergo retraining or preferably just **** off back to Mordor, or whatever hovel he comes from, up North.

What about the linesman? Can't he see across the line either? Both VAR and the linesman are a shambles.

Being a linesman is objectively very difficult though, unless it’s really obvious you can forgive a linesman an error. VAR is totally different, there’s no excuse to get it wrong.
