We're supposedly signing him on Thursday. Why Thursday? God knows...

Having completed the journey from his Serbian hometown of Mojkovac, via Borca, to the Emirates Stadium, the young Montenegro international reflects on the latest developments in his ever-promising and growing career.
- “There were offers from Tottenham and Birmingham City, but once a call came from Arsenal, I had no more doubts. Wenger made sure my papers were arranged for and my work permit extended so I can be at more training sessions. A pre-contract will be signed on Thursday and then I will return to Belgrade and join BSK for their preparations. I will be staying with BSK until May,” Savic said for Blic.

Re: Stefan Savic

Savic said "I am getting the most help from Wenger’s assistant coach Boro Primorac – a former Hajduk and Yugoslavia player – and, naturally, Eduardo . It’s excellent I have the opportunity to talk in my native language with someone, although I have good command of English. I’ve had some endurance tests and played in some friendlies. What matters most to me is that I have pleased the coaching staff."

Re: Stefan Savic

I read the comments in blic website and all are praising this young lad as some super talent.

- “I was on the terraces and it must have been hard for the lads on the pitch. United had a terrific game, especially Nani. Wenger was extremely mad during the training session yesterday. This defeat means the league title will be extremely hard to reach right now.”
It's interesting when he says how mad Wenger was after ManU defeat. In serbian version of interview, he actually said: "Wenger was mad as a rhino" :D

Since he comes from same region and if we sign him, be ready for "He'll be better than Vidic" brigade

Re: Stefan Savic

Anyone actually seen him play? Was this our real target all along and did we trick Fergie into spending more money than he would've liked?

Re: Stefan Savic

The original article made it sound like he'd be on a free in the summer, hence the "pre-contract" agreement.

i like players from that region, so if we think he's good, i hope we've pre-signed him.

Re: Stefan Savic

Another example of Wenger buying the cheaper foreigner instead if the more expensive englishman (Smalling). Will be intresting to see who will have the better career.

Hope Smalling won't be one of those "I could have bought Smalling five years ago".

Wish he was from Serbia and not Montenegro.

Why?

He's never gonna get any WC experience with Montenegro. Their team sucks.

that could be a blessing, look at Giggs. Our players tend to pick up knocks on international duty. Maybe fewer nationals on good international teams would help us on the injury front.

Maybe, but it could also affect development. I can't help but feel that when Bendtner comes back from South Africa he will be a much better striker than when he went.

Re: Stefan Savic

Apparently Savic's actually a contender for the FIRST team, not just a youth player according you Young Guns:

"Young Guns revealed yesterday that Arsenal were closing in on the 6′2 defender, but reports emerged that a fee could be the sticking point in any potential deal. These rumours are wide of the mark, but Wenger still wants to have a final look at the prospect who would go straight into the first-team for next season." Sounds more promising that I had thought.

Arsenal Quotes

There is no chance of Sol ever leaving for Arsenal. He is a Spurs fan and there is not a hope in hell of him playing in an Arsenal shirt.
