No thats fair comment. I actually was interested in just international football at first. The player that I really liked was Dave Seaman (hence the avatar) he's one of my footballing heroes which is funny considering I'm a midfielder by trade. I won't go into why he was my favourite player, boring details really. Any way I wouldn't consider myself a glory hunter. It was Disco Dave Seaman that drew me to Arsenal and since they were a London club it was a suitable match. So I started supporting Arsenal the year Bruce Rioch came in charge. Since then I've become increasingly obssessed with being a gunner and I would consider myself to be a truly loyal supporter who wouldn't leave a game five minutes early. Hope that explains some things for you.

Fair play. People should support whoever they want. It's a free country.

But you don't have to be from Islington for Arsenal to be your nearest club. I'm not from Islington yet Arsenal are still my closest premiership club and most probably football club full stop. There are loads of people who may technically be nearer to Sp**s but that doesn't mean Arsenal isn't local either. You also have to consider family tradition because people move around but the tradition continues. In the 80s i'm sure most people who supported Arsenal were North Londoners.

Still, our large fan base from around England is good for the club. I know a guy from Bradford who just supports Arsenal. Not because of our league titles but just because he chose us when he was a kid.

Well if we're being pedantic (or silly in my case) we could say that Arsenal are a Scottish club from Kent. Those that know a little about our history will know that the club was formed by a group of Scottish factory workers who were living (and working) in Woolwich in Kent. The club moved to North London essentially for commercial reasons (which pissed Sp**s off). Thought that was relevant enough to put into the debate.
