That's funny, coz in that case, Özil plays nothing like Iniesta or Zidane then. Looking effortless... Is that all it takes? What about Neymars ability to dribble with his head up? I know, he scores goals by the bucket load, so unfortunately that's where he doesn't quite measure up to Özil and Iniesta :D

I agree, though, where you say Özil is a dying breed--although I'd probably say they're being phased out, rather than his type becoming somehow extinct,
plenty they have in common besides making the game look effortless, their ability to find time and space in a crowded area and make the correct decision every single time also Özil is a good dribbler as well check his game against France- his passing is up there with iniesta maybe even better but that is debatable, the elegance at which they play etc. Neymar on the other hand is a classic forward they can be literally no comparisons between him and the likes of Özil, iniesta and Zizou.

A classic forward? We must me talking about a different Neymar... The only thing that sets Neymar apart from Özil and Iniesta is his ability to be able to do more than them. He has a fantastic range of passing, dribbling skills neither can match and scores goals. He can do what they do. He may not specialise in being a provider like Özil, or even Iniesta to a lesser extent, but that's because he's busy getting into dangerous areas and scoring goals. He can't be in three places at once.

It's fairer to say Iniesta and Özil don't compare to Neymar. Let's not cloudy the water--Neymar is better than both of them, but that's certainly no slur on Özil and Iniesta.

Classic forward not CF. Neymar is more like a Henry, C Ronaldo and Pele than a Bergkamp, Cruyff and Sniejder. both these two set of players are completely different to one another. that is why as Barca you play the two in the starting eleven( Neymar and Iniesta). it's because they both offer different skill sets which they both excel in. You can't have Neymar doing what Iniesta does and vice versa, Neymar is more of an direct rival to messi than Iniesta. so to me you can't say Neymar is better than Iniesta or Özil because they both perform on the same level although in different categories, if that makes any sense

Anybody know about this?

Last May at the conclusion of the Premier League season, Mesut Özil mocked Giroud on Instagram by ‘liking’ a post about Giroud failing to get Özil the assist record off Gunners legend Thierry Henry. Özil famously missed out on breaking the Premier League assist record last season, despite seeming being home and dry mid way through the campaign. Many blamed Giroud’s inability to finish the chances Özil put on the Frenchman’s plate as the reason behind the record miss.

Özil has now repeated the mockery, this time of Wenger, by ‘liking’ an image on Instagram that is captioned “When you go into the new Premier League season and Olivier Giroud is still you only striker.”

His technique and ball control are about as good as you can hope to see. His feet are probably not as quick as DB10's was, but he's not far behind. Bergkamps feet were like the hands of Bruce Lee.
Agree, but why are you talking about Takuma Asano in the Özil thread?

Really looking forxard to having Xhaka in CM for us, and for Mesut. Looking at his compilations he promises so much! Cultured left foot like our real #10 & a fusion between Alonso AND Kroos... plus good in the air??! I will happily settle for less.

It's been proven that the chances created stat is bullshit though. Özil's creative, but he didn't create 146 chances last season. He made 146 passes that lead to a shot.
