The telenovela is all me. Pure WWE embellishing

Was surprised it took everyone this long to see behind the smokes and mirrors for this sim lol
Yeah obviously but unless you're resimming these results are ridiculous. Of course the better team on paper doesn't always win but look at the state of piggys formation ffs

I think we had a bad finishing day at the office tbh.

Outshot him away from home and on another day we might have won that.

All to play for home leg.

What Rex didn't tell you, was that he added managers to each team that affects how they play.

And in order to make it fair...all the worst teams on paper got 2022/2023 Arteta as coach, while all the best teams got 2020/2021 Arteta...it's why some of the best teams are playing like they have never seen a football before.

It explains how @pigge collection of jobbers was able to beat my best of the best OF THE ****ING BEST squad!

What's the explanation for the 5-5 then. Was certain at the end of those posts that was the entire tie already lol

What can you say? Crazy games happen like I said before and that's the biggest amount of goals in a game so far by some margin apart from one sided batterings in the league stage.

I remember a 4-4 with Leverkusen a few years back, the 5-3 game with City and Monaco, Liverpool and Chelsea had a 4-4 as well back in the day, Chelsea also had a 4-4 with Ajax and of course the famous 8-3 between Deportivo and Monaco.

If EVERY game was like this then yeah fair enough but think the average goals per game so far has been a lot lower overall.

Sooner or later it will become reality. People are looking for entertainment and dull goalless draws rarely provide anything memorable. Just a matter of time.

On the other hand looking at fantastic firepower that almost every team assembled those high-scoring games are absolutely possible. Teams are dreading of trio Saka-Jesus-Martinelli while here we have likes of prime Henry, Sheva and Suarez playing together. Can't see any way to defend against them!

My formation is elite. No need to watch for crosses with his "little person"-team.
Defend the shots with the dm/dlp and make it tight in the middle. While overloading them on the counter with 5 elite players.

Couldn't have gone another way than a victory now that I think about it.

Ok Hugh Hefner. Sorry we can't all be as cool as you with over 6,000 posts on an internet forum.
I think @Blood on the Tracks's just angry that he didn't participate in the game to earn the merited awards in the end and further boost his beloved ratio

The reactions/message ratio for participants will be getting a giant boost, all that from the vast amount of BZ$ coins.

Onto the deciding leg of the third quarterfinal now... it's the Sauce Squad of myself and @Trilly looking to undo a last gasp comeback from @pigge utd and that man Sergio Agüero in particular. His godlike finishing salvaged a win for Utd and gave them a slender lead into the return fixture.

Now with it all to play for in the Wanda Saucetropolitano both teams came out unchanged from the previous leg. A lot of pressure was now on the heavily favoured home team to turn it around and get through to the semi finals.

Starting the game and it looks like @pigge utd are going to sit well back and try and protect their one goal lead. It's a siege on their goal from the Sauce Squad. Five minutes gone and Ronaldinho is set rampaging through the middle... no-one in the Pigge Utd can get close to him...

He slips in Mbappe... who squares it...

FOR DECOOOOOOO..... NOOO CROSSBAR!

CvsmRyIXYAAgocv

Not the easiest chance hitting it first time and trying to control it but he has to work the keeper at least from there!!!

It's constant domination though, Ronaldinho and Mbappe are causing absolute havoc in between defence and midfield for Utd. Cambiasso and Scholes can't get close to them and the chances keep on coming... 25 minutes in and Sauce Squad have Utd completely contained in their box.

Gattuso recycles it to Ronaldinho on the edge of the box... he traps it dead.... dummies at least three times....

Toe pokes the static ball...

AND IT FINDS THE BOTTOM CORNER!!! INCREDIBLE!

2984.jpg

With almost zero backlift he completely decieves the Pigge defence and Oblak is left a spectator as he puts a magnificent goal to give the Sauce Squad the goal that puts them on top in the tie. They're going through as it stands on away goals!

Utd need to make a go of this now but they can't suddenly turn it on and they're still fighting off wave after wave of attacks. 10 minutes later a lackadaisical Firmino is caught on the ball by Toni Kroos. He plays it to Alaba who charges forward and slips it to a flying Mbappe....

He has the Utd defence on their heels... an out of position Piqué tries to make a tackle... and Mbappe is clear! Up to the edge of the box he dummies left... Marquinhos buys it... Mbappe shifts his weight to the right foot... and before the scrambling defender can get a foot out he....

BURIES IT INTO THE NEAR POST!! OBLAK A SPECTATOR AGAIN!

The star men for the Sauce Squad are absolutely turning it on tonight and have ripped Pigge Utd to shreds in the opening half an hour. An incredible finish after a dizzying run and the star striker has given the Sauce Squad a nice cushion.

Still the attacks keep coming! Mbappe again works a great save from Oblak after some nice build up play from countryman Griezmann. Marquinhos scrambles the ball to Zidane... he shifts through the gears past Ronaldinho and Kroos...

As Gattuso and Alaba look to converge on him... he plays it across to Scholes in support... he plays a great switch out to Robben who's all alone on the right side!

We all know what comes next...

He cuts inside... and before Ferdinand can get out....

IT'S A TOP CORNER BANGER FROM ROBBEN!

08slide1.jpg

A move we've seen a hundred times before from him but it's absolutely unstoppable... he cut inside and hammered it into the far top corner beyond a despairing Neuer! Now that is a huge goal out of nowhere on the counter attack for Utd... from clinging on they're now suddenly back on terms. As it stands we're going into extra time.

The goal has rattled the Sauce Squad crowd into silence and now there's worse news... it looks like Gattuso is limping after trying to challenge Zidane in the build up to that goal... substitute Helguera is warming up on the sideline but the tough Italian waves off any change for now.

An exciting half ends 2-1 to Sauce Squad but it's all to play for!

So into the second half and there's terrible news for the Squad... Iván Helguera has had to come on for Gattuso during the interval. The Italian sits on the bench with his head in his hands, heartbroken he can't help his team.

The change doesn't disrupt the rhythm of the Squad though and if anything they're even more dominant... now they have their away goal it looks like @pigge utd are more than content to sit back and play for penalties.

The game is being completely played in their half now and surely it's a matter of time before they're broken down... still though the only chances that the Sauce Squad are able to work is potshots that go wide by Griezmann and Deco who's having a nightmare game in front of goal.

The Squad look for some variety in attack with utility man Seedorf coming in for Griezmann to play on the right... one of his many comfortable positions. All change for Utd as well and they throw on Błaszczykowski to try and have a strong impact like he did in the first leg.

They're starting to open up and now it's time for the Squad to surely blow them away on the counter... Cambiasso loses the ball to Kroos... he plays a great ball through to Ronaldinho... slips in the wide run of Mbappe... no angle for the shot...

He cuts back... AND SURELY THAT'S A HANDBALL!!!

A sliding challenge from a desperate Błaszczykowski and it looks like he deliberately touched the ball as Mbappe shifted it to his right! The players rush the referee who waves play on... they're absolutely fuming!

Rex and @Trilly are absolutely shocked that's not given!

tumblr_inline_mixd47Dco91qz4rgp.gif

And sure enough... the VAR call is announced on the big screen... the ref runs to the monitor and.... PENALTY!!!!

A cheer goes up as the right decision is made and Ronaldinho has the ball with the chance to put the Squad ahead in the tie!

He stares down Oblak... steps up....

AND SENDS HIM THE WRONG WAY!!!

GettyImages.57644230.jpg

Again it's the star duo for the Sauce Squad of Ronaldinho and Mbappe who've combined to put their side on the edge of the semi finals after 75 minutes...

Now it's all or nothing from @pigge utd and finally they start to create some chances... into the last 10 minutes and they've worked it to Zidane... he runs it round van Dijk... pulls it back and look who it is....

AGUEROOOOOOOOO!!

neuer-manuel-germany_3494315.jpg

NO SAVED BY NEUER! INCREDIBLE!

With the tie on the line their Neuer scoops the ball out from what looked like a simple tap in for the Argentine hitman! He keeps the Squad ahead of their opponents by a matter of centimetres.

Into injury time now and Zidane tries to play in Anelka... great tackle though to break it up by Thuram! The ball is recycled into Deco who plays a magnificent ball to Mbappe and it's a 2 on 1 for the Sauce Squad!

Ball sent to Ronaldinho and when the last man Piqué tries to make the tackle it's sent across to Seedorf....

He shoots.... and...

PUSHED ONTO THE POST BY OBLAK!

maxresdefault.jpg

It definitely should've been a goal but even so that's two great saves from both keepers in the closing stages here! The ball comes out to Scholes... he launches a ball into the Sauce Squad half....

Header won by van Dijk....

AND THAT'S THE FINAL WHISTLE!!!

The home crowd erupts in noise as the Squad turn it round and pull an enthralling comeback over @pigge utd who despite digging in for most of the game had no answer for Ronaldinho and Mbappe who were totally dialed in and wouldn't settle for anything less than victory!

Meanwhile the camera spins to the sideline... what's going on with the managers!?!?

1_daviesdcl.jpg

OH WOW IT'S THEIR LATEST OUTFITS! The photographers abandon the celebrating players to get a glimpse of this cutting edge fashion drop. Incredible stuff from Rex and @Trilly

The Sauce Squad are into the semi finals after a 4-3 aggregate victory where they'll face @Juan Matas Beard and @Gooner416 with their 4Juan6 Spartans!
